Posts: 2024 | What I want to know is what's with two bait companies suddenly coming out with a very similar bait?

Posts: 32953 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Hellraiser looked good, I'm sure it will catch fish.

Posts: 70 Location: Mapleton,IL | The musky innovations bullhead looked a little better i thought, but the both looked like they would both catch fish. I don't think you can patent plastic baits so you see alot of copy-cat baits.

Posts: 5206 | If you look at both companys baits, they have somewhat orignal ideas, hard to believe either company copied.Bill

Posts: 2024 | Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they were trying to copy each other or whatever. Just thought it was interestingly coincidental that these bullhead plastic baits were being debuted at the same time. They both had very different designs, the Hellraiser looking like it would push more water simply because it was bulkier. However, I've seen prettier things in my toilet!!!

| Buy them both,,Ive now seen both in the water,,,,The musky innovations one is smaller and would imitate a young bullhead also the prototype I got to try from a buddy last summer was a different color it was brown with a creamy yellow belly which looked alot more like a bullhead then the black back model they had at the show The hell raiser one looked great in the pool and is about twice has large also he designed it so the double tails would hit each other has they come through the water making for a more erratic tail action,,,both in black and brown,,I bought the brown but the black looks like an eelpout which shold make it great for leech,Mile Lacs, LOTW,,, | |||

| Brad from Musky Innovations and myself were both a little surprised by 2 Bullhead type lures to hit the market at the same time. We agree that great minds think alike (lol). If you consider the testing - mold making - production - etc, both lures were started months ago. Will have more colors of the Bully out for the rest of the winter sport shows. We also have a cisco model and a smaller Bully in the works for next season. Thank You Pat Wingo Hellraiser Tackle | |||

Posts: 2024 | Could either of you guys possibly make a shad imitation? I was surprised to see, especially at the MI booth, that they had bullheads (which I don't really consider a MAJOR forage fish), perch, walleye, and sucker imitations but no shad. Shad are unbelievably prevalent throughout much of the midwest (especially MO, IL, IN, KY, OH, PA, etc) so I'd imagine there'd be a pretty big demand for such a bait. I know I'd snatch one up without even blinking.
