Karol,
St. Croix has had a 7'6" heavy in their Avid series, and added a 7'6" heavy in their Premier series. Yes, it will work for jerkbaits but it all comes down to what you are comfortable with.

The Premier line has changed for 2006. Note - some of the rods (lure sizes, line weights) have changed on some models. Best to ask to make sure you know you are getting a 2005 or 2006 model. I'm getting a 2006 pm80mhf, which has changed from 1/2 - 2 1/2 to 3/4 - 3 oz lure sizes. I opt for the 2006. Others may want last year's model.

St Croix has a rod selector option on their internet site that may be helpful in selecting a rod for your fishing needs.

Of course, you can call their 800 number and talk to a rep.....that's what I did. Good luck.
