No problem. The color is more red - less orange in person. Dunno why the color shift - maybe the flash.

Pete said it caught fish, but few fishermen. and catching fishermen is kinda important.

I forgot to mention, Mike Gregg does a very nice Grass Carp that is similar to this. I'm sure he could tweak it with some more red and some bars. www.mrgmuskies.com

That color rocks. I wish I had that bait.

"Nice colors catch fishermen" and "dull, non-attractive baits don't" make bait dealers as much cash.

"Pete said it caught fish, but few fishermen. and catching fishermen is kinda important."

How true this is Rudedog.

Thats why we need all these custom bait painters.

I think that red is a very underated color when it comes to patterns. Though a real redhorse is usually only red on it's tail and it's fins, redhorse patterns tend to blend red and gold, which compliment each other well. I know one guy who really likes red lures
Anyway, I remember reading an article back in the 80's that was dealing with lure colors, and they asked what color is found on or within the most color patterns on lures. The answer was red. I figured it was because most lures at that time would employ some red in the gill area.
I have several sketches of red based patterns that I'm going to make this year, because I had some great success with large pike and some skis using red-based lures.....usually morning and evening. It was blood red, or cinder red, not flourescent red which is more orange based.
I don't understand Petes line of thinking, because I think that some red-based lures are real eye catchers.
I know one auction winner who is waiting very patiently for his......
(It'll go out tomorrow.) I think Slamr said it was OK, but I better double-check.
