Posts: 185 Location: Mendota Heights, MN | Just got the Lowrance 332C and popped the lakemaster mn promap chip in it. Went out and fished a metro lake last night and found it very difficult to see/read the contour lines on the screen while standing up and looking down at it. They are there, just tough to see from 5 feet away. I was wondering if there was any way to make the contour lines show up darker? Anybody else dealing with this issue? Steve

Posts: 1438 | 1 I know you can set the contrast, maybe that would help. 2 If not, do you have the screen set on the brightest setting? Push the Power button several times and you'll get 3 or 4 different levels of brightness. 3 How about the zoom. I've noticed with mine if you play with the zoom level it'll help with the line readability. 4 I know there is a setting somewhere that changes the lake background color to white. Don't have any idea where it is off the top of my head but I've scrolled across it before. Might want to try that too. Hope this helps... Scott

Posts: 34 Location: Iowa | When I got my 111 a few months ago, I was bummed because it didn't look that great. It was the brightness setting. Great picture after I got that right.

Posts: 291 Location: Minneapolis | Hey Steve, Did any of the suggestions help? I ask because I've got the same problem seeing countour lines on my 332c in the bow. I don't have a problem in the stern with a LMS3300C (GPS-only unit). I didn't spend much time messing with settings because I installed the 332C in late October, and I mainly fished lakes I knew very well after that. Still, I'd like to get those contour lines brighter. Thanks, RP

Posts: 185 Location: Mendota Heights, MN | Well, all the suggestions are appreciated. In fact I tried every one. What it really came down to is my realization that this mans eyes just aren't what they used to be. That said, the only real solution is to get a unit with a larger screen. I did find that zooming in quite a bit helped, though going to far in this direction leads to other issues. Don't get me wrong, the 332c is a great unit. The screen is just to small for me to be 6 feet away and still be able to read it. I think from now on a minimum size of 7" display is in order. I will say this; the networking feature of the unit with my other Lowrance on the consol works great. Saved me a bundle of money on the purchase of the 332c as I didn't need to buy another GPS antenna or transducer (using the one built into the trolling motor). Steve
