Some clubs purchase fingerlings and I was wondering what hatchery they use to get there fish? Do the hatcheries have to be private?

Are you asking if we purchase fish from private businesses or the DNR?

Our club has been purchasing fish for a while. We typically use the Minnesota Muskie Farm. Rob and Debbie will deliver fish to most anywhere in the country so long as you can get a permit. You can call Rob @ (320) 762-8247.

I'm pretty sure that you can't purchase fish from the MN DNR. MN has contracts with some aquaculturist to fill the void in from what they can produce and what their quotas are.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Kalepp's (sp) Fish Farm in Dorchester, WI

Depending on where you live there may be restrictions and whether you can put in fish from an independant fish farm. You will need to check with your local DNR fisheries biologist first to make sure it can be done in your area.

What were you planning to do with the fish? Are you looking to stock a priviate pond? Just curious, and might be able to hook you up with some folks who have successfully done that.

What strain do you want???

Theres also another vendor in western Minn that farms muskie fingerlings and is very experienced and does raise fish for the Minn DNR,,,I hope Mn muskie farm can keep up with all the demand these days for leech lake stock,,I know the west MN guys sells them cheaper in Nov when his prime time season slows down if intrested
