It's coming down at a right nasty clip now, looks like 6 to 9" of snow tonight. Winter has arrived, I think.

Talked to my family in central Iowa about 3 pm today. They said it's snowing already. Wet heavy snow.

I cancelled my final hunting trip because of the weather.
Rain and snow, with winds from 25-40.
I'll stay here and make lures instead.

Good lord, I hope so. Snow (four letter word) on opening day= slaughter in the woods!
Good luck and safety to all of you this weekend, in the boat or in the stand!

Man....I miss the snow. I wish we still got true winters here in Indiana. We'll get like one week of something that resembles winter..and that's about it anymore. I remember back when it'd start snowing around Thanksgiving and you wouldn't see grass and the snow wouldn't melt till March. I need to move north...or....out west to the Rockies and get back to skiing....

We got 3-4 inches of snow here in Storm Lake, IA yesterday...I made the mistake of going duck hunting...here is a pic from last night of the snow that was coming down for it's 12th straight hour...

Snow was down to about 6000' here I would guess (reservoir at 4900'). Was a bit chilly the past couple of nights, but the water temp was still 50 on Tuesday (11/15). Looking at the short-term forecast, it will probably drop a bit quicker the next few days. I still don't expect ice until mid-December here though.

You guys make me feel so guilty about fishing in a short sleeved t-shirt yesterday. Beav send me some of those prototypes down here. I haven't got anything to do all winter except fish and walk the dog.

You guys get to scrape your windshields.
Warm up the car.
Thaw, or chip out the base of the garage doors.
Curse the high price of heat energy.
Shovel snow, or blow snow, and salt the ice when you are a little remiss in your snow removal.
Jump car batteries.
You are sooooo lucky.

Geez. I envy you guys.

Brrrrrrr. 9 freaking degrees here in Central WI this AM- However, Esox Maniac is still hooked up to the truck, gased up & ready to rock "n" roll on some late November Wisconsin Ski's. Anyone up for a Nov 30th impromptu outing?

Have fun! All you big buck/bambi hunters be safe out there!

down to 4 deg. last night in minocqua .... lots more smoke on the water this morning .... should have big water, but a few more days will tighten up many lakes quickly. legit snowfall here ... drove home from Brainerd, MN. yesterday ... snow and slippery all the way.

have a great deer hunt and be careful on the waters.

gonna get my tip ups ready this weekend.

fsf, wouldn't trade it for anything, loving to ice fish, deer hunt, and ply the cold streams for steelies, after 7 months of pounding. Besides, it usually weeds out the wimps and keeps them at bay, a few states to the south.......LOL
