There were a bunch of folks out since the water temps are starting to cool off. Most people were off the lake by 1230 since it turned out to be unusually hot and the bite was off. I talked to a few folks who had some lazy follows but no takers (gliders and large spinners). The wife and I didn't see a fish all day.

Went out sunday and had 4 follows early and one later in the day, but no takers either. I talked to a guy who had been fishing for two days and hadn't seen a thing, so I guess we were lucky. We saw another boat pull a 36" out of a stumpy cove later in the day. Water temps were 68 at daybreak and 70 in the heat of the day.

Anyone have any tricks to entice the bite of those curious followers??

Lip, I was out Sunday and Monday with three fish total (2 dinks and a nice 42). The key seemed to be small, bright crank baits twitched erratically near weed edges. The wife and I threw everything we had and didn't see a fish until we down-sized.

Lip,

Good luck, looks like you will have a couple of days of exceptional weather.... I am tied to the desk through Friday, then honey-do list Saturday. With any luck I may be able to head down for a day on Sunday. If you ever see me on the lake, wave me down and say hi. I am easy to spot as I fish from a 19' Imperial run-about (dark blue/grey with Imperial lettering toward the back).

Went out Friday and Saturday, picked up 3 fish 39", 39" and 42". the first 39" had about a 12.5" girth, really skinny, the second had a healthy 15.5. about a 3.5lb difference. Tried fishing every pattern I could think of and ended up always coming back to weed edges. I hope you did well if you got out sunday.

I am usually out in a lowe boat with a very outrageous 9.9 hrs motor(the huge wake are mine, sorry!!) This last weekend, I was in a tracker. Not going out this weekend, too hot for me and I want the water temps to drop a little more. Week afetr next looks promising.

Hey Barry,
How is the boat runnin'. Looks like you might be in the market for a new boat. Let me now if you go looking for one. I would like to go with and see what is on the market these days. What do you plan to do with the old bass boat??

We caught 46.5, 44, and 38 on Wensday. Fish are all over the place. Main lake is not so hot right know. Turn over?? We have seen them in timber and weeds. Twitching jakes produced and we got some action from squirko's and mad dog pranha's. Good luck!!

Does Kincaid ever freeze up in the winter? If so when does it open back up?

The lake doesent usually freeze shut, but there will be times that the backs of coves will have some ice in them. The bad thing about that is that the boatramps are in the backs of coves...D'OH
I havent seen the lake froze up enough to keep boats out for the last 3 years though. We caught our first muskie of hte year on Jan 10th or 11th this year.
