Posts: 699 Location: Hugo, MN | I'm not one who normally questions fish BUT this fish measured a mere 52.5 inches and the guy claims it weighed 45+ lbs. I did the math LXGXG / 800 and it would have to have a 27 inch girth to go above 45 lbs. Can't remember what Ramsell's formula is but I don't think that would add up either. It was great catch and it was huge but not even close to a State Record . . .

There was an article about this in the White Bear Press local paper. They claimed in there too that it was just an inch or two short of the state record. Well it's too bad the state record doesn't go by inches, but by pounds. And it's a long ways off from the record there. All this guy is looking for is a pat on the back. He must not realize that there is bigger fish than this caught every day in MN somewhere. Congrats on the nice fish though !

Posts: 714 Location: Rhinelander, WI | If the couple of inches they are talking about are GIRTH, they may be correct with the record comment. Either way, very nice fish. Nail A Pig! Mike
