Hey guys,

Just wondering if you could recommend a Yamaha dealer/Mechanic/Marina, that is close by and does good work. Had some trouble with my engine this weekend as I'm having a hell of a time finding a local shop. Any help would be great.

Waterwerks on RT. 53 would be the closest Yamaha shop. Have you had a bad experience with them or something?

I've heard good things about Bob's Outboard/Marine in Dekalb. They're certified yammie dealers.

Actually, this is the first time that I had to have my engine worked on. Somehow the prop, bolts, washers, seals, prop shaft, etc etc etc, just fell out of the lower unit casing. I have no idea how it happened but it looks like its going to be a pricey fix. Has anyone ever had this happen??? I've talked to about 5 marinas today and they've all said the same thing "Never heard that before..............This is very rare." I asked them if it could happen from trailing, but they said it wouldn't have caused it. I dont know? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, thedude

Duchow's Marine, in Pewaukee, WI is the largest Yamaha Dealer in 3 states. Even though my 1992 Yamaha has had next to no problems (knock on wood crankbait!), I have nothing but positives about their service. Their phone number is 262-695-2800.

Thanks for the input guys! Found out that the prop shaft shattered. Still dont know how, but you gotta love a $100 deductible!
