I usually fish a fairly clear water Metro musky lake in the mornings, 5:30 - 12. We do move fish but not not many, usually 4-6 per outing but can't seem to find the more aggresive fish.
Here is what I am wondering: At this time of the year, would you reccomend fishing inside the weedline in shallow water in the morning time, or outside the weed edge?
Thanks,
Steve

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Shallow. I'd fish wherever there is cover, and did I mention shallow? Ask Slamr, the slop rules many times during the late summer and early fall period. I spend a tremendous amount of my early to late fall on the water time fishing rocks and weeds in 4' or less. During the after turn over, from sun-up to about 8:30 or later if cloudy, I will concentrate on the 3' to 6' breakline so prevelant on area waters, even on the stones.
All the way to ice up I do well in the skinny water. |
