Just wondering if anyone has fished on the chain lately and if they had any info?

MercKid,

I fished the Chain during the weekends of: 9/17-18 & 9/24-25. Saw surface water temps near 68 deg on 9/17 and it cooled to 64 deg on 9/24. Caught a small musky, low 30s", on evening of 9/17 off a point in Morley. Had a nice one, about 40", up to the boat behind a glider on 9/18 afternoon in Fishawk.
The cabbage weeds are dying off, but we still snagged a few green ones in deeper places like 10 ft. on 9/24. This was the type of area where we found the best action.
There are still plenty of green milfoil weeds to be found everywhere.
We also noticed many boats fishing the channel areas leading into 1000 Island and Cisco. No lack of company on the water there now ! Nearly every mid-lake bar had boats on them, too.
Saw lots of green algae bloom on the surface of Big Lk, but I think thats normal as I usually see it there.
I had a hard time finding a place to stay w/o reservations the nites before I drove up !!

Good luck........

Snaggle.....you have a place on the chain or just fish it? Either way, if you wanna hook up this fall, shoot me a line. I'll be up 2 weekends in November for sure.
