| Some of you may have read my post on Worralls "where are you going to fish the holiday weekend?". I made late late plans to come up and fish in WI for the first week or so of Sept. Late late plans. I had hoped to get a hold of a couple of guys and set up fishing dates if possible for the week, but extended computer problems and work had left little time to do that. I had posted my first ever cell phone number on the post and specifically had asked Todd M to get ahold of me since we would be in the same direction and I know some of the water he fishes. He didn't, but probably never saw the message. If he did see the original message he wouldn't have been able to reach me anyway since in my cell phone ignorance I did not think to post my area code. I had to ask my wife what my number was and never did think about it. Well, when nobody called for the whole trip up north(15 hours, give or take an hour at R&H's), I did think about it and had my wife go back and post it. But then...my wife had warned me I needed to keep my cell phone plugged in to get it charged, and not to get it wet. So I did not have it on all the time, and, when I did have it on, I wasn't to adept at using it. It took me most of the week to actually call with any kind of coordination on it(teenage girls must be much smarter than I am). Still when I carried it in the boat or turned it on in the suv, no calls. As I was driving to the lake for a last morning of fishing, last Sunday, I hit a button, well actually several buttons and all of a sudden voice mailbox came up on screen. I didn't know I HAD A VOICE MAILBOX, though I might have hit that button earlier in the trip, I lost it before I could check it out. It had six messages, and among them Steve Worrall, inviting me over to fish and stay at his fashionable hotel on Pelican Lake. I am sure that as the new guest I would have been offered the best water and the first cast to that special place. Especially after I put on my "helpless dumb act" to lull them into thinking I couldn't catch a fish if they did put me on one. When I saw Slamr's magnificent fish, I instantly understood that it was indeed MY FISH HE WAS HOLDING AND THAT IF I WAS JUST INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO RUN A CELL PHONE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ME HOLDING THAT FISH, NOT SLAMR!!! Slamr, I don't blame you and think that a nice replica in the mail would do fine. I will send you my snail mail address so you can ship it down, it will serve as a memento to all of us that missed out on that one special fish or that one special trip.   And Steve, thanks for the invite, if I could have picked up on it a little sooner I would have enjoyed fishing over there, I was pretty close. | |||

| No you have your math wrong. I finally figured out how to get my voice mail Sept. 11th after fishing since the morning of the 3rd. It was a sad thing to see my fish hanging out with the wrong crowd. For your misscalculation I think it would be better to send me that very fine replica, WITHOUT having me send my credit card number first, oh and btw, tell the craftsman that I think weighed in at around 32#, and even if it didn't it should have... | Yeah, sure Sworrall, now you throw in the venison on the grill and toddies around the campfire just to make it hurt worse! I ended up with chef boyardee out of the can over the coleman 1 burner, etc. It was like venison, only....different. Nice of you to invite me, though, sorry I didn't catch on quick enough. | |||
