Posts: 8865 | What, you can't fit your muskie gear and your hunting gear in the truck at the same time?? I'd have split the firewood back in July when it was so stupid-hot and the fish weren't biting.

Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | I your part of the world I would fish but carry everything with you in the boat. Fish first. Use the chainsaw for firewood when Theedz casts up into the trees around the shorelines. Use the gun and bow while Theedz naps in the boat and eats lunch! Problem solved!.......Next!

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | ain't that the truth!!!! used to organize a company outing every year up here for the northern wisconsin tri-athalon. day-break bow hunting, grouse hunt from 10 - noon, eat ... musky fishing til after dark and then pizza and cocktails at 12 pines ... it was an incredibly popular event and one i miss. need to get more of these business contacts off the golf course and into the boat and the woods! a much more memorable experience. the bowhunting has all but gone away for me, but i still love to shoot the grouse. best game meat around!

Posts: 1310 Location: Washington, PA | I have that dilemna. In PA, no bowhunting on Sunday's, so that's all musky fishing. All other days will be spent in a tree stand.

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I'm tempted to deer hunt out of the boat this year, as long as you are not under motor power it is legal to shoot from the boat.

Posts: 7117 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | You dont NEED to bow hunt, when is the last time you said "god I really wish I was grouse hunting", and you're a Muskie guide now (again). Be a pro, chase muskies. BUT, on the otherhand, if it means i have less deer to hunt (out of your fridge), get into the tree (dont want to endanger my 100% kill ratio on my hunts)....but then again, didnt you kill like 14 deer with a gun, and like 2 wit the bow last year? I say chase muskies, chase muskies, kill squirrells out of your front yard, and save the deer for gun season. Grouse?

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Road hunt Grouse on the way to the landing, and arrow a big hoop on a musky float trip down your favorite river while stealthily paddling a canoe or jon boat. Just hope the clicker doesn't sound as you draw. Gotta love the fall!!

Posts: 239 Location: Madison, WI | Our annual Cast-N-Blast is coming up in October. Nothing beats fishing and hunting in the fall! I find myself spending more time in the boat then on the trails. If grouse numbers are up it can be very entertaining AND tasty

Posts: 122 Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Best thing I did was give up hunting. Lakes are nice and quiet on Saturdays in October. Not too bad on Sunday's at game time either! Rich D
