| Ill be heading to tonka tomorrow. went last week on tuesday and a guy in my boat got a 40inch, hope i do as good this time.
Any last minute suggestions? I was planning casting some bucktails and spinnerbaits along the edges.

| well i went out this morning and fished 8-12. Had one follow myself and one hit and miss also. My friend that i brought along had all the luck. He just wanted to catch northern so he was casting a little bass spinnerbait and BANG! he gets a 44inch. He was mad cause that was the only thing he caught all morning. Psh, that fish is what i've been after all YEAR. i guess im a better guide as my dad has gotten 2, my grandpa 1, and now my friend has 2, and me 0.

Yesterday was the day to be out that is for sure. Too bad work always get's in the way of fishing. |

Location: Bloomington MN / Price County WISC | Never tried 'tonka because I only had time on the weekends and didn't like the crowds. Now I can fish during the week and planing to hit it next week. My question is, what is the better part of the lake to launch and fish ? What's been the better bait.

| I like the east end, just because its a closer drive and i know some spots. For lures... psh, nothing i throw works. Bring a friend, have them put a bass spinnerbait on, and you throw the worthless 15 dollar lures and hold the landing net. Try a black bucktail with orange blade, but i wouldnt count on it. |

Location: Wayzata, MN | I fish Tonka a lot... but this year she's not giving up many fish [yet].
For bucktails, I like 'crappie' patterns [white/black w/nickle blades] or brown with copper blades [carp]. Black w /orange blades generally work too [I prefer a willow blade on this one].
For cranks, perch or walleye colors... or firetiger... sometimes a redhead [white w/red head]
When all else fails... go smaller. I've been playing with jigs with some tail after reading tips on the board regarding them.
There are muskies in all the bays. I tend to stay away from the popular spots and look for secondary structure off those spots. Or just explore. Weeds, weeds and more weeds. Drops, humps... best if near deep water. The 'usual' stuff...
Nothing earth shaddering here I guess... it's really just about the TOW... Time On the Water this year [which I have not had enough of - YET;].
