Location: Ogden, Ut | Last time I was out was Tuesday (16th). Had to get a couple of fish for the display tank at our new Cabela's - opens this Thursday. Got a couple before 9:00am and then got into an altercation involving my boat trailer, a sloped driveway, a truck, rain-slickened concrete, a jumped wheel block and of course, myself. Essentially, I played 'air-bag' between the truck and boat. Thankfully, neither were dented (well, except for me)! On the injured reserve for a couple more days.

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | GREAT weekend on Lake Michigan!!! Shared the boat with Musky Dr for a few trips. Fished with a very good friend, Ray Kunesh Jr, aboard the Lil' Tiger Too for a morning and an evening. I did running around during the day to get things set for the next morning with Musky Dr. Here are a few pics of what we did. Hopefully they are not too large to post.
Musky Dr and I had some decent success considering we waited out some storms on Saturday morning and fished some rough water Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Location: Greenfield, WI | Bill Schwartz and I went up to the Hayward area last Friday through Sunday. Driving up the weather was great with a combination of rain and drizzle. But as would be expected as we got to town the weather improved which translates to got worse for muskie fishing. We fished Friday with Dave "The Biggest Little Muskie Guide in the North Woods" Dorazio on a pothole lake and on the Chip. We had action on 4 little muskies. We had a great time with Dave. It would be well worth anyone's time to fish with him (715-462-3885). A word of warning, wear your life jacket so you will be protected if you fall out of the boat from laughing!
Saturday was so windy that there were whitecaps in our water bottles!
Sunday was a little better, but not much. We fished a couple of pothole lakes and Big Sand south of Hayward which showed some potential. But all we saw all weekend were muskies under 30". We caught a few nice northerns, but we weren't there for that.
Water temperatures were 69-72F. Action should be picking up soon for the "FFFF" (fall feeding frenzy)!
It was a great time with great friends. The weatherman and the muskies just didn't cooperate!

Location: Des Moines IA | Jeremy and I got out on Shabbona on Sunday morning. We had a few new glider bodies to put through their paces. We managed to get 1 mid 30 inch fish in the boat while trolling our "new spot". Had a couple others on , but they shook the bait before we could cut the motor... Nice to hear the clicker go zzz zzz zzzz though. I think next weekend entails Salmon fishing in Kenosha! The kings have got to be coming in soon! |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | No muskies for me. Did an electrical project for the Mother-in-law on Sat. during the day, cold front that SVL talked about equated to wife and I puting 150+ miles on the Harley on Sat. evening. I think the bike is sold, so I'm riding every chance I get. Sunday I worked around the house, starting getting the little boat ready for duck hunting. Burned some Chix on the grill and had a cold Leinies with a few friends that stopped over.
Musky related though... Got a call from Jason Smith about 2:00 pm he was on his way back from MN with pictures of a 51x25 that he got on Sat. What a slob of a fish.... awesome pictures. So that was my musky excitement for the weekend.

| We were up for the WMT on Mani Chain. We missed the tornado in Stoughton by about 20 minutes on the way up. My starting battery died last weekend which was a blessing in disguise as we had to stop in Lake Geneva on the way up to pick up the new battery. Luckily it was enough time to have that storm pass us otherwise we would have driven right through the middle of it. Heard there was quite a bit of damage, like 20 some houses destroyed... Weather was looking good Friday morning so we got out to do some pleasure fishing on a few of my favorite lakes around the Minoqua area. Started the morning on Friday pretty well but it went south fast. About 45 minutes into the morning I stuck this nice little fatty. 20 minutes later the trolling motor housing looks like it has a campfire in it, smoking everywhere.....DOH! So after a bunch of calls to a few MinnKota repair places, Grizzley Bob in Minoqua was able to replace a fried circuit in about 3 hours! Thanks Bob! Weekend saved, not that it mattered. Tourney was tough, no fish in my boat. But I learned a bit and made a few friends while I was there. One thing learned is NOT to stay at a motel with a bar attached if you plan to feel good in the morning and being on time to the tournament! Pea Patch = good times!!

| Thanks guys.....and more thanks to Mike Schmidt for netting it..
It was a fun fish...I should have lost it at least 8 times. It was in the big motor twice and under the boat and missed once in the net, slack line once and so on.....I guess it was meant to be.
The sun shines on a dogs #^* every once in a while.

Location: Seymour, WI | Fished Hayward on Fri in the rain. Got a 37" on a Mepps Giant Killer in the figure 8. Lost a fish about the same size while reaching for the net.
I also had a musky charge out and knock my bucktail out of the water like seal pushing a beach ball. Scared the crap out of me.

| See my report for St Clair last weekend @ www.Hoosiermuskie.com under Forums. It was a fun but tough--wind wise--HMH club outing!

Well, the outing had a fun group as always but was rather broken up due to rough weather conditions and a tough bite. The winds whipped @ 15-25 much of the time w/ gusts into the 30's. Sat brought T-storms and rains but a break in the winds down to 10-15's later in the day. Waves persisted throughout w/ 2-4's to 3-5's Fri & Sun w/ 6-8's rolling through. Sat began @ 2-4's but settled to 1-3's then 1's by dusk. Sat pm was a tremendous eve to be out on the lake with an amazing sunset and a giant orange moonrise! We had multiple men with geen faces and queezy stomachs and several bail outs after a day on the rough water. One comment was "I'm not sure if I'm cut out for big musky water". Another was blankety blank wind/waves!!! This was definitely a trip for real musky men!! The water was murky much of the time with weeds everywhere and the fish were widely spread and lockjawed. Fishing mighty St Clair under these conditions is always very strategic!

Congrats to Mr Troy Niloff on his monster ski. She had all the makings of a 50 incher girth-wise and gave him a tremendous fight! That was Troys biggest fish to date. I believe Eric Flemings 44 was his largest to date as well--way to go Eric. Beautiful spotted skis for sure! Eric toughed out an entire day of seasickness, not complaing a bit and deserves credit for that as well! Way to go guys! Em me if you'd like a copy of Troy's fish pic.

| Picked up a 34" near Star Lake on Friday, Swimmin Joe. Sunday a 35" at Boulder Juncton, S. Joe and a 38" on a Super Topraider. Monday a 32" at Monona, Wisher Jr. and Tuesday a 31" at Monona with a Topper Stopper.
The 35 skinned the Swimmin Joes rubber body and only left the plastic skeleton. Second time this year both fish were 35's! Anyone else have this happen? |

Location: Iowa | Went to Mantrap...had one follow from a 28"-32" fish and lost about a 5 pound northern...guy I was with got about a 2 pound smallmouth...nothing to major to report though...
