Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | Well, I've been back in steamy Indiana for 4 days and am having MN separation anxiety. I saw my daughter Laura catch and release her personal best pike (on a buzz bait no less). A 33 incher. WOW, what excitement! I watched my son Jake catch and release his personal best pike as well. A fat 33.5 incher. I caught a perch... (hee hee) My wife and 2 kids got to see what a trophy musky looks like from the bow of the boat. We located a mid 50's hawg on thursday and I took them up to see the eagles and hopefully the big fish on friday. We got to see both. They about flipped out when they saw her. I think they understand me a little better now when I share my excitement about musky fishing. One evening while out by myself I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. I dropped my hands to my side in awe of it. "God, you sure do great work!" was all I could say. I had a wonderful time of fishing fun and relaxation with my 3 best friends. Here are some pics. Hope you enjoy. Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | We go to a quaint little place called "Our Cabin". It handy since it's also where we sleep. I honestly don't have any suggestions for you, Todd. We never leave Muskego Point while we're there. I guess you could drive to Ely and eat at the Chocolate Moose. That's a neat place. We went there two years ago and I think the wives took the girls thare last year too. I'd also like to mention that we were fortunate to meet some new friends from Brainerd. The Young' are a very nice family and serious muskie anglers too. Jeff is the Brainerd MI chapter president. I really enjoyed visiting with him. We hope to see them again next year. Here is his big fish from the trip. She followed me up the day before he and his wife CPR'd her. I was real happy to see them connect. I think they love Vermilion now. Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | stephendawg .... had the same reaction on the sunset as you did and that was just from looking at the picture. got to share the nite-bite experience with a guy from south carolina last night here in n. wi.. there is a time during the change of dusk to night-time when i get a feeling which is usually connected with the songs of the loons. i stop and thank God for the moment every night i'm out there. fishing moving or not moving doesn't matter when those times come on the boat and we all know what they look and feel like .... what a cool feeling. | ||
