Just wondering what your thoughts are as to what this cool weather, temps in the 40's-50's overnight are going to do to the fishing? Any comments, thoughts or ideas on this?

Good luck to all.

It seemed like yesterday morning that it had the fish really moving. We raised three fish and my partner caught one a 38" on a black Mag. Dawg. I also caught a very fat bass and we had several pike hitting. All the fish were hitting baits and seemed pretty aggressive.

It certainly can't hurt!
Having water temperatures drop back into the 70's will be a good thing.

Water temps on Moen in Rhinelander were down to 74.5 in the shallows Tuesday night, and the fish were definitely there and on. I lost three (bad luck, I guess) in less than three feet of water on Violent Strike giant willowleaf spinnerbaits. I hope the warme weather coming this weekend isn't another stinking 'trend'.

Cool? It's still 96 here today.

(of course, my water is still coming down out of the mountains in the form of run-off, so water temps are still well below 80)

Hey Sorenson,
I'm out in South Dakota, no muskies but three pike were caught today during the PWT tournament that were 20 to 25#. Oahe has some nice pike, as well as a ton of walleyes.

Yeah neat place, huh? Curious thing about it, despite the relatively high number of monsters out there, few people target them (or at least not many when I was there). They seem to be more into catch rate than big fish. I saw some in trap nets during egg take operations that could best be described as 'scary'!

(and you're not as far from muskies as you might think )

I can't wait for the high to be 40-50! I will take this cool weather although around here is't still going to be in the 80's but at least the morning is pleasant.

Fishin ghas been much better since the water cooled a few degrees. Actually has them a bit more shallow and more active.

Cold Temps can not make the fishing any worse than it has been this summer in Minnesota.

Just got back from a few quick days up on Eagle. It was hot last week and warm Sat/Sun. It blew, it cooled down and the last day (Wed) I popped a 45 and 49 on rocks. Water temps dropped to about 71...I'd say I like the cooler weather!!!

These two fish had alot of steam and were agressive, to say the least. The 45 ate on a figure 8 and blastd out of the water 3 times and the 49 came screaming out of nowhere and just inhaled the bucktail with an awesome headshake and 3 deep power dives.

Pictures will be posted once I get them in a week or so...that's another story!
