With this very hot weather and water temps to match, has anyone tried a jigging approach in weeds and deeper rocks? Might it be a good strategy on a blazing hot afternoon? Was in N Mn last week and even though we had follows to the boat on cranks and bucktails, I graphed some very large fish just off the bottom in 21 feet. Looked to big to be walleye. Would like to know what you experienced jiggers think.

All the best,
Don

Sure, creatures RULE on days like you describe. Gets right down there in their face, making it pretty easy if they want to eat even a little.

Karol- I like those Triple Ds. After reading the post on how not to overwork them I will be trying them out more on Leech the next 2 weeks. We had a lot of follows to the boat, a couple of which were hot, but nothing bit except a 20 incher. Seeing those follows sure has gotten my 13 year old xcited. Steve- I have many jig combos, including a creature like critter- gonna use em till they hit on em. Seems like a great alternative when things are slow.
