Posts: 32944 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I lost everything on my computer Friday night. I didn't have the time before my Goon trip to try and recover everything after all the 'simple' fix efforts failed. Anyone who emailed me over the last week needs to resend. I know there were a couple boat advertisement emails in there, Bulletproof Tackle included, but I could not open anything in my Outlook Express. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm on vacation this week, but will take care of the things that were sent last week right away. We were run off the water on the Goon yesterday by storms, after busting 6 pike over 30 and rolling a decent muskie on the hookset on a Castor. North winds today, and HOT weather coming. looks good for the big girls if the weather warms, we have low 60's water temps this morning. Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | Hi Steve. I left from the Goon the day you arrived. I wish I was there yet. Among the great aspects of the water system was barely seeing anyone else on the lake during most of the week, other than beavers, loons. bald eagles, and moose! I got a 4# 20" smallmouth bass on a 8" Doghouse Bucktail! I also caught a personal best 48" 31# muskie. It was the big fish of the trip for a grand total of 45 minutes. My partner, Mike Kropp caught his personal best as well, a 53" 40#! Both fish had incredible girth. It takes a little time to get used to the minimal water clarity and the shallow nature of the fish, but what an incredible body of water! Not that you need it, but good luck! If you have the time, there is a great little restaurant in the booming metropolis of Wabigoon, that serves some mean omelettes for breakfast.

Posts: 32944 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We fished walleyes most of the day yesterday, Sue got her personal best and we boated about 30 . Jack's daughter got a 45, Darrel got a 33, and Neal got a 35. They were all fishing Pike. We moved a big girl on a Pepto Castor, she ate it and gave it back, and that was that. Today, we went to town in the morning, and got out on the lake for a couple hours this afternoon before the Indian Point Camp fish fry. I got a 41" pike, a 38, and 7 from 32 to 36, saw a nice muskie on a Top Raider, and came in for the fish fry. This evening we saw one really nice pike on a Castor, one muskie on a Top Raider; a big front moved through the last two days and the muskies are definitely off on the Goon. Warmer tomorrow, and warmer still on Friday, good things yet to come! Water temps are low to mid sixties, and should rise a few tomorrow. The system is about 2 feet higher than normal summer pool, and the dam is wide open, so she's dropping fast. I have two to chase that are in the low 50" class now, so the milk run is forming up. The weather has kicked our fanny a bit, but who's complaining? No phones here. None. Attachments ---------------- DSC_0087.JPG (47KB - 118 downloads) DSC_0092.JPG (62KB - 130 downloads)

Posts: 32944 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Morning all, Steve's still sleeping, got a little heat exhaustion yesterday, but be back up running later this a.m. He was so fried he couldn't even put the big girl picture up from last evening, so will give it a shot here or shortly. Been extremely hot last two days, the bays are so still it pushes you out to get some air in the more open parts, but keeping the sunburn to a minimum and I'm just not hitting the water as hard as Mr. W so here I am on my last day hoping to maybe get into catching my personal best in Jacks or muskie. We see! Suzqwrall Attachments ---------------- muskie3.jpg (19KB - 131 downloads)
