With out going into detail some SOB bent the shaft on my Bow Trolling motor, What is the best way to get it straight again.
It does not have a sharp bend but a gradual bow that is quite visible.

Thanks Guys

I have the same problem with mine, however, it is still operational. A bit noisier but it still works.
I was told the best method is to replace the shaft tubing. I considered trying a pipe bender, but like I said, it still works so I left it alone. m

There is a place that advertises parts/repairs and sales for trolling motors(I'm assuming its a Motorguide right?) in the Outdoor Notebook. I'll see if I can dig up their number for you and post it..

Thanks Guy's I got it fixed, I'll find out this weekend. One of my Mom's neighbors is a pipe fitter and he has some nice bending machines that he used to straighten the shaft, the shaft still has a very slight bow but it's much better than it was.

What happened was the boat was tied up to a dock on the Fox Chain while my Wife, Her Brother & his wife and I were eating lunch at one of the marinas, This huge guy ( I mean ANDRE' the Giant Huge ) slip's on the dock and steps onto my boat, from where I was sitting it just looked like he stepped on the bow to keep himself from falling into the lake, no big deal I thought until I gat back to my boat only to see my Pinpoint TM shaft bent I looked for the SOB but he was long gone

Thanks Again for your Help

Mikie, who is that wild haired dude in this months Muskies Inc members photo section he looks familiar
