This year, I spooled up with 3 different brands of super line, to see which one I liked best. Well, one brand ( I wont name it, but if you send me a PM I'll tell you which one) wore SERIOUS grooves in the tip-top of my St. Croix. The tip-top was good before the season. Anyway, I was not aware of the problem until this weekend when I lost an original bulldawg in pristine condition that I got from Krishna in a bait trade and snapped the line on the first cast. I went through Park Falls on the way home today, and the wonderful folks at St. Croix were more than happy to replace the tip top for me for free while I waited.
This was the second time that these folks were good to me, and I just wanted to give credit where credit was due.

St. Croix has always stood behind thier product, I had a rod that was at least 6 years old where the cork on the handle started falling off, St. Croix repaired and shipped the rod back to me at no cost

PM me the line you had problems with

I have had the guides replaced on all my premere rods at least once. Cost me 40 bucks for st croix to do it which I thought was not bad but one rod I just could not keep the inserts from popping off. I had frank's custom rods fix that one and so far so good. I have a 6'9"er the rod blank does not go all the way to the end and that part of the handle is starting to crack off. I have not decided to send it to st croix or send it to frank as of yet.

You will never find a better customer service staff anywhere in the fishing industry.
St. Croix makes awesome rods and stands behind all of them.
Great product. Great people.......Happy customers.
Made in The USA.

The first time they took care of me, I bought an old (20 years or so) St. Croix from a flee market. I brought it in, and they fixed the bottom of the handle for free.

I'm curious if the people at St. Croix had any comments about the line wearing into the guide insert. I've tried most of the lines designed for musky fishing and never had an occurence like that. Had they run across the same problem with other customers?

They had asked me which line, I told them, and the guy said "Ah". He never said another word about the line. I don't know how I should have taken it.
