Any of you guys out there ever have shoulder surgery? Just curious, how long was your recouperation period? This stinks. I can't even get out and troll. Almost four months now and I'm still trying to get my warranty issue resolved with Yamaha, and now recovering from surgery. Well on the bright side, maybe by the time my shoulder heals my boat will have healed too.

Hey, Matt

My left shoulder is all kinds of messed up, and I'm not having it looked at until the season is over. I don't know how laid up you are, but have you thought about maybe buying a lefty reel and just fishing backwards until your shoulder heals? Seems like it might work??

I had my shoulder reconstructed December 27, 2004. Football for 12 years does that kind of thing to ya, I started three years on the offensive line at Buena Vista University. They told me it would be a 6 month recoverym and that is about exactly what is took. I have about another week until it is 6 months exactly. I still don't have the full rotation that I need but I can still muskie fish, just can't throw anything with my right arm. Don't exactly need to throw a ball of anykind though, just muskie lures. It sucks man. I went through the same thing you are going through. I was immobilized for 1 1/2 months before rehab. Rehab blows a$$ too. Good Luck...

What did you have done to your shoulder? I had an arthroscopy to fix a torn labrum a few years back and it took about 3 months to recover where I could raise my arm above my shoulder and about 6 months to really get to 100%

Too many curve balls in high school 30 years ago are still haunting me. I have a partial tear
in my right shoulder and learned to cast left handed instead of going through the surgery.
Rehab can be anywhere from 6-9 months, but from what I have heard, the key is to stay at it
and don't slack during re-hab or you won't get good results.
Motrin, ice and follow the doctor's orders.

Matt all will be well in time. I have no boat for the foreseeable future. Pops sold his and it looks like he is done. I rented a boat on vermillion putted around in a 16ft boat with a 15hp motor that would not plane with 3-4 people in it. I was basically stuck to a very small area. I hope your shoulder heals soon my friend, it will and I bet the first bait you toss will be a mag dawg!

Marine, I had a bone spur removed from right shoulder, scapular reshaping, and some muscle trimming and attachment in the scapula area. I have already started physical therapy, and not feeling too bad. Man I can't wait to get out again. Too many years of powerlifting, boxing, martial arts, and other sports finally took their toll. The pain killers are nice though....
