Location: Ogden, Ut | I don't want to get into brand bashing but I now have one that I will not use again. I was fishing on Sunday morning and had a fish pull the hook right out of it; didn't even feel like a particularly big fish, in fact, I thought it was a smallmouth. I just assumed it was a bad bait out of a run of good ones. I took the bait to where it was purchased and it was replaced (Sportsman's Warehouse - I don't think they would have had to; thanks). Today I was using the replacement bait - sight fishing so there are no assumptions for this episode. I casted to a fish that I believe would go about 32 -33", it immediately turned on the bait and stopped about 1/4" from it. I gave it a slight twitch and it was immedaiately sucked in; naturally I set the hook and figured to be soon unhooking a fish. NOTHING. The bait just slid out of the side of it's mouth like it was an ice cube. The fish didn't even move. I quicky tossed back and the same thing happened except this time the fish never took the bait, just got close and slowly turned and swam away. I tried a few more times to no avail. Then as I was reeling in, I jokingly remarked to my partner that maybe the hook pulled out on this one too. Sure enough, it had. It's not like I really hammered a hookset either, and my weak link should have been the 30 lb. Tyger Leader. Made me sick.
If you would like to know the bait, email or PM me as I don't think the site will allow a thread to stay long w/ this kind of 'product endorsement'.
