| Hey guys,
While pulling off of Pelican Monday night I my running lights on the trailer were not working. Brake lights, turn signals, and flashers all worked on the trailer but no running lights when I started the truck up. I plan on doing an electrical check this weekend but would appreciate it if anyone has had a similar experience. Maybe just a bad ground or connection? Thanks for any help. |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | Check your Grounds and splices. A ton of trailer light problems can be traced to the ground... If it looks corroded clean it up, there should be no rust or paint between your ground wire and the metal its attached to. |

Location: Southwest PA | It shouldnt be a bad ground if all your other lights are working. It sounds like a broken wire between the truck and trailer or possibly a broken pin in the connector its self.

Location: Syracuse, Indiana | I had those symptoms last year leaving LOTW. Turned out to be a blown fuse in my truck (F150). That same fuse controlled the license plate lights. |

| Never thought of the fuse in the truck. I will definately check that out before I start ripping out wiring for the trailer. Thanks for the input. |

Twice this year I have repaired 2 friends trailer lighting and it was the ground on both, trust me, as I am a electrician by trade, just check the ground. Easy simple fix if thats all it is... Sure it can be a broken wire or bad connector, but check those after the ground is checked..

| Check fuses first. On the chevy trucks there are two or three places on the truck where fuses are located. Some are under the hood and some in the cab. Not sure on the Ford's, but the book would list them all. Next check the grounding. |
