Posts: 189 Location: Hoboken, NJ / North Webster, IN | Hopefully you don't mind me taging on to your thread, but I was the guy who won the motherload at the Indiana Classic tourney.....$1800 worth of stuff(Calcutta GT, 2 St. Croix 7'6" MH, Shimano Compre, Dunwright box, and much much more.) So I share you enthusiasm with the Muskies INC even more than usual too right now. I've gone two years now without personally catching a fish during the tournemenet, but have done d@mn well at Ye Ole' raffle table. Indiana Tourney was great as usual. Count yourself lucky too, because not all chapters go to such lengths.

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Thats what the Classic is all about. My son scored 3 times on the multiple raffle. You won the best one as far as the one ticket wins all goes. I got a few good things for my door prize and the kids got a bag of stuff for juniors entry. Very cool club...............Join us. The money all goes back to the lake and club. Great chapter. Posts: 8866 | Congratulations!! It was one of those things, man. Like God looked down and said "this guy needs that stuff" 1. I've been trying to find printable moon charts that you don't have to pay for, the calendar solved that 2. I've been building a custom box because I didn't want to spend any more money on musky stuff this year (spent something like $2500 in the last 8 months 3. My buddy reminded me last week that I don't own a net and need to buy one 4. I've been using two rods, and spending too much time switching lures -- bucktail on one, jerk on the other, we drift into a cove and I want to throw topwater. Crankbait on one, Jerkbait on the other, we're in slop and I want to throw a bucktail.... The whole day I was thinking "#*#*, I need a third setup, but I spent so #*^@ much money on musky stuff lately... 5. Lures -- no such thing as too many, and all 6 of them were complete contrast to what I have 6. Hat -- even the hat. I have ONE comfortable hat and it's camo, and your head bakes in the sun. A gust of wind nearly took it and I thought "#*#*, I almost lost my hat. I'd be %&^*ed if I lost that hat. I gotta get another hat!" I swear it was like somebody hand picked the stuff just for me. The funny thing is when I bought the raffle tickets I wasn't thinking "I'm gonna win that stuff" I was thinking "man, I didn't even SEE a fish today -- these guys need all the help they can get with their stocking program!"

Posts: 8866 | Hey, Mike -- I notice you had your dog in the boat... How does she do when you get a fish? Ever had any problems with her wanting to jump in or anything? Reason I ask -- I want to get a lab, and would probably wind up taking him/her fishing when I go, but I'm a little worried about hook injuries, having to fish her out of the lake because a duck swam by, or trying to defend me and the boat from intruders (fish)

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Jeff, labs are great boat dogs. You just have to let them know what they can and can't do. Mike's dog, Sandy, is an awesome boat dog. She knows what she can and can't do. I have a lab as well, and he is going to be 1 in a few weeks. He loves going in the boat, and has seen lots of slime in the past year. What I do until he is a little older, and understands the boat rules, is I keep him on his leash, and attach it to the front butt seat. That way, he can't get into any baits (they are kept in the back of the boat), and if he wants to jump in after something, he isn't getting too far. He has only gone in the drink once, but I couldn't blame him, he was hungry for a twin teaser tail. Good job cleaning house!!!! See ya on the water.
