I am headed out to the Chip for opener and i am curious as to some pointers? For some locations i am thinking that bays adjacent to the main lake might be the best bet if not then main lake bars and such. For some lure options i am thinking french bucktails, walk the dog tops, and glide baits. If anyone has thoughts on this or if i am missing something the chip regulars know, some advise would be helpful.
thanks

there are plenty of places on the chip to fish. I wonder where i would start. I have always done well in some of the coves. What i mean by that is around the sides of islands that is still deep but comes up fast. I have fished everything from jerkbaits, topwaters to cranks in those areas. i particularily like when i find downed trees in the water.. logs underneath down about 10 feet. But the bays as you mentioned are a good start. I have stayed away from pete's bar etc... since it's usually pressured so much. there are plenty of spots to hide in and there are fish in those areas. I think you are right on with your thinking. I would try some crank baits in the mix though.
