Subject: Power Pro Customer Service

Bought some power pro for the first time, I had been a devoted user of cortland musky master. As I was spooling my reels, from a bulk 500 yd. spool I found defects in various spots on the line. The spots in question had no coating and were frayed. By this time I was thinking I should have stayed with what I have been using for the last 25 years, not to mention the cost of this new stuff. I ended up wasting about 85 yds. of this costly line and sent a letter off to power pro with samples of the bad sections. I really did not expect to hear from these people. Two and a half weeks went by no reply and I felt I would never hear from them. Then on Tuesday of this week UPS is knocking at my door with a small package, since I had not ordered anything I did not know what it was. To my suprise in the small box was a new 500 yd. spool of power pro in the color and lbs. test I had purchased. All the packing slip said was replacement. This is what I call standing behind your product, no questions asked. I would have expected them to at least ask for a sales slip proving the purchase, but they did not. I am going to be a devoted user of power pro these guys stand behind ther product.

Sweet!
I love hearing things like that. I am Trying Power Pro, Tiger, and Tuff line for the first time this year ( I have been a devout fan of braided Dacron). I'm glad to hear companies standing behind their product!

Never had any problems with it personally, but its nice to know if I did they stand behind thier product. There are enoough companies out there that dont, good to see there are a few good ones left who still care about the customer.

These are the companies that "get it" as far as customer service and satisfaction goes. That type of behavior will create loyalty and trust FAR more than the companies that make it a pain in the butt to get in contact with.

On my power pro, as well as my tuff line, the green color is already gone. Is this normal? It only is gone on the length that's been in the water.

Think its normal for power pro. Mine did it pretty quick last year and I didn't have any problems with it.

The material that many of the braided and semibraided superlines are made from will not hold dye, that's why the color fades so fast.

Thanx for the imput guys. If this is normal, why do they bother dyeing it anyway? just sell it in its natural color state, and pass the savings on down.

They do. White undyed Power Pro is available, and always has been. You chose to buy the green dyed version.

About 5 or 6 years ago when I first started using PP, I got a spool that had a few small 'lumps' of the coating material scattered throughout the spool. I emailed PP about it, and found out that it didn't affect the line strength at all and happened now and again through their manufacturing process and they were working on a solution. About a week later I also got the 'mysterious' UPS package which to my complete surprise contained a 500 yard spool of PP in the color and test of the spool I found the lumps in. Have never even considered using another line since then, have had zero line failures in that time period, and have never found the 'lumps' again. Innovative Textiles stands behind their product and I'm a long time PP customer because of it.

I love PP as long as it's the 80 LB or better, anything less than that ( At Least For Muskie Fishing ) seems to dig into itself shortening the cast length also the ocassional backlash is a bear to get out on less than 80LB

After a season of use, I will take the power pro off, and put it back on so that the older, faded line is against the spool, and the newer, hardly been used line is on the outside of the spool....

Depending on how much backing you put on, you should be able to do this and get extended use out of the line...
