Question...I picked up one of the custom 16 oz. bulldawgs at the Minnesoat Show this past spring...I notice that it only has two hooks...I was wondering if anybody else has one and if so if it is possible to add a 3rd hook further back in the body of the bait...whether or not it is worth risking the action of the bait by trying to run something through the body of the bait of just modify it like the shallow invaders can be modified...for those who don't know what the pounder looks like I have included a picture...that reef hawg in the picture is 12" so hopefully that puts the Dawg in proportion...

| big perc,
that pounder is as good as it is going to get. i use them quite a bit and have no complaints about the hooks, just keep them sharp. it works great as is. the bigger the dawg the better, the smaller ones seem to catch a lot of pike, but i havent seen that on the pounder. take a look at the magnum uptown dawg too. the body is softer, so hopfully the critter will hang on a little longer. you can get them at thorne bros. adding a third hook would be difficult to say the least. It is all through wire design, so you would have to get into the body, and i cant see a way to do this that is worth the possible damage. |

Location: Eagan, MN | I don't think you need another hook, but why not run a stinger off the split ring for the rear treble? Use a 2-3 inch length of solid wire to connect to the existing split ring, put on the other end and bury one of the treble hooks into the plastic. |
