| The lake that I happen to fish most is beautiful in itself. It does not have many islands; three to be exact. The structure is wonderful. There are rock bars and cabbage beds, sand points and bullrushes, with muskies of all sizes(and shapes...really!!)to be caught. In and among the muskies, there are many smallmouth and largemouth bass to be caught...many of them big enough to eat a muskie bait. Walleyes are not as prevalent as they used to be, but they can be found at times with the other fish. Panfish are plentiful and big, thanks to my wife feeding them off the dock. There are cabins and houses on the lake, but due to building restrictions, you cannot see them unless it is winter, when all of the leaves are down. The shorelines are alive with wildlife ranging from muskrats and beavers, to racoons, deer, blue herons (one which we have named Oscar in memory of a neighbor who passed away), and Loons come and visit you right at boatside. Once in a while, the loons will play with you by diving under the boat to the other side, pop up on the other side and wait until you see them...then they dive again to the other side. I may not catch a fish while the loons are having their fun, but it is so nice to know that being there with them, you are a part of their lives as well as they being a part of ours. As the evening approaches, ducks are flying, along the edges of shore, sometimes darting between you and the bullrushes low to the water. The whistle of their wings stirrs in my soul with the thoughts of past duck seasons. Any sunset is a wonderful sunset with the big ladies showing their face behind a slow creeper on the calm waters. With the darkness comes the stars, northern lights dancing all over and the local timberwolf howling at the moon with the calls of loons across the water. To me, the experience is much more than catching fish of all kinds, but being a part of the wilderness. The lake is what keeps bringing me back. I cannot get enough of being up there...If heaven is anything like this, I cannot wait to die!! I cannot tell a lie...the lake is lake X[;)] Steve | |||

| I confess to the naked people.....but NO I DO NOT FISH YOUR FAVORITE LAKE setme31!!! I refuse, I live 45 minutes away, but I still think that it is the WORST PLACE to fish ON THE PLANET! BUT, in my 4 hours out there this year, I did miss one fish, low 30s, so at least I can say that. Actually I can say my whole crew refuses to fish that body of water. Slamr | |||

| My Lake X is really nothing special.... but that is what makes it so "special". It is small, deep, and extremely clear. Very little structure to keep you entertained. Not a weed in the lake, not even in the shallowest water. She lives in the shadows of some of the most popular musky lakes in northern Wisconsin, so it is neglected by most. Not the prettiest of lakes, that's for sure. What makes my Lake X so special is her INNER BEAUTY.... for what swims underneath her surface is what gets me excited. This lake is infested with cisco.... so many that I have NEVER been there without seeing large schools pitter pattering on the surface. The constant boiling of the water's surface from the abundance of food is what fuels my desire to continue casting the barren depths.... knowing that there is a beast down below that will fulfill my every expectation. She's already given me a fortified FIFTY... but that was just to tease me with what her true capabilities behold. I truly believe she will produce a certified 50 pounder... and since noone else seems to give her a second look... I hope to be the lucky recipient. jlong | |||

| The greatest lake is High Lake in Boulder Junction, Wisc. We've only been there for a year or so, but I already can't wait to move up there personally, when i get older. Its secluded enough that it rarely gets heavy fishing pressure and when it does, its normally because of people fishing for species other than the MUSKY! Which make us extremely happy! There are many rock bars, weed bars, cabbage beds, drop offs, and great shorelines to fish. There are 3 islands on our lake, and all 3 are great for fishing around them. Were up almost every weekend, and we've at least seen a fish every single day we've been out there, and thats without knowing the good spots on the lake. We've caught numerous amounts of fish between 30-40, a decent amount of 40s and we've seen some monsterous 50+. As a bonus fishing on this lake, I have caught a bunch of 19-20 bass on topwaters like the dancin' raider and top raider, big northerns in the lake, and big walleyes as well(state record came out of here 18lbs). The wildlife is just amazing. I see deer all the time drinking at the shores of our lake, eagles and loons everywhere, and we've also seen some bears too! One time a 5lb walleye floated up on shore. My dad went out there and put it on this hill because he was going to measure it. As he came back in the house and monsterous bald eagle flew down, sat there for a minute, then took off with the walleye in its talons. The eagle made the walleye look like a perch. The people that live on the lake are extremely nice and kind, and they take care of the lake pretty well. Also, a major plus is that, since we've been there for a year, there was only one day where we saw a jet skier, and he was way out in the middle not bothering anyone! Our lake is the greatest in my opinion, but it is only my opinion! Thanks, great contest, Brett Carroll | |||

| My favorite lake to fish is Petenwell Flowage! Why you ask?Because its the 2nd largest lake in wisconsin, because its right down the road from my house, because its DANGEROUS,because it has muskys, big muskys, because our musky club has been planting fish in there for the last 18years,because I meet tons of great people out on the water(a few pinheads too!)because we can fish the river part or backwaters or creeks or deep openwater, because we can troll, because we can watch the same trumpter swans each season, because opening day is the first saturday in May,because we catch fish there, because we dont catch fish there, because you can get lost on that sucker when the fog rolls in,because you can ride in true 4'waves and test your rig out, because everytime you launch your boat there its something different, because its a challange(big time),because it is truly an outstanding fishery, because it truly sucks(sometimes)! So why is The Pete my favorite place to fish?Well just BECAUSE!The End!
