Today's Peoria Journal Star has pics of a fattie netted by the DNR last week. It was 49 3/4" by 25" girth and weighed 43-5 lbs which would shatter the state record of 38-8. The net that contained the fish had 12 muskies in it with an average length of 42". Also, Tuesday a state record saugeye was netted there also. It was 29.5" and weighed 12-7 which would also smash the current record of 9-10.88lbs. Both pics are in todays Peoria Journal Star. If you like big girls, you'll loves these pics!!!!!!!

Wow thats a nice fat fish. Caught my first IL muskies out of Evergreen. Went to college at ISU and used to wade the spillway. Was there the morning the current state record saugeye was caught in the spillway. Rember they weren't going to allow the record because it was caught in the spillway. I can also remember during some high waters looking from the road up top on my way down, 30-40 muskies swimming around in the spillway. Used to catch them and toss em back up into the lake. Good times....
