Lets cut to the chase......Fishing was VERY slow today. Only two fish caught and both on the troll. The biggest was a 37.5" caught by Jim Beaty. Second fish went 37" even. We have 25 teams total. The wind direction has changed twice in the last 35 hours. Small cold fronts at night and water very slow to warm up. Rumor has it water temps got up to 56. I found 54, but it was very skinny water. I also heard SIU study boat found a BIG inactive fish sitting right under a tournamnet boat. Nothing was co-operating today except that #*^@ 22" bass that blew up on a firetiger jointed SS shad.

Fished friday saturday and sunday. On Friday we hooked 2 fish one was a 40 and lost about a 42-43. Saturday within the first 10 min we boated a 47 on a rattle trap and lost one other right before dark. Sunday hooked three other fish and lost all but nothing big. Fish were there to be caught but the feeding windows were really short and you needed to be on fish at the right time. Another boat also found the same pattern as all there fish that they had action from right at the same time we had action.

I agree with BuckeyeFan, windows were small. We fished sat-sun. 1 lost sat, boated 39 at 7:30am sunday on shallow invader bumblebee, witnessed a 36 get caught 45 min later, lost a low 30 10 min later.

The tournament anglers were not on the hot bite. Alot of boats fishing the same patterns. 4 fish total. 2 on Saturday. 2 on Sunday. 4 fish total with the largest, a 40.5, caught on sunday. The winners were new members of the shawnee muskie hunters. Nice way to show up the old members who fish Kinkaid all the time. I saw 3 fish total all weekend and lost 1 Very early sunday morning. oh well, it still was great meeting some very cool friends who I plan to fish with the rest of this year.
Lake clearity is great right now. The spillway has 5 ft no problem. Johnsons creek is 2 ft clearity in some spots. Shad every where. temps holding around 50F. There is still nice weeds from last year that are holding smaller fish. Rumor has it the winning fish was caught casting a huge weed flat.
