I was just looking for a quick head count for the Cave Run outing. I can make this outing and maybe a few other guys that have never been to a MuskieFirst outing. I am just looking for some info to pass on to them.

I was watching for more info and maybe a list of people that are in for sure. I am going to try to get down there by Thursday to fish, maybe with a bunch of Wisconsin boys.

Might I ask:

What is the plan for the outing?

Steve, can you fill me in as far as the meetings or planed meals. Crash or Tony doing anything?

Will it be like the time we all met at the Comfort Inn. That was very cool to meet and share info.

This will be another great MuskieFirst outing...............Lets get it rolling.......Thanks.

Heading down on Thursday after work and am going to wing it. Never been there nor have I met any of the M1 gusy who are going. Do you guys meet up at the landing or a bar or somewhere? Preferably the second!! haha.

What about any baits? As if I didn't have enough I learned this past weekend that there were some I still could use. Especially down south. Rattletraps!

I also need a map as well which I'm sure shouldn't be to hard to come by.

It will most likely be too early for rattletraps, it all depends on the water temps. Glide baits will be my first choice, so far. Esox1850 I will be glad to hepl you get into the best areas and find the working patterns. These outings are shared info to all and great learning experiances. MuskieFirst outings are a great way to learn and meet other members.

I was looking for more info also about the format of this outing. Slamr, Steve, Crash, Tony........Anyone.....

Steve is pretty much handling/running this one, all I know for sure is that its the week of Easter, with everyone starting to fish Wed, then fishing Thursday and Friday, with the awards meeting Friday night. DO NOT call this gospel on info for this outing, just trying to supply the only information I (think I) know.

Thanks for all the patience!

Yes, it's the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th. Official get togethers are the 24th at the Comfort Inn for MuskieFIRST Pizza Night (free meal) and the 25th at the Comfort Inn for another meal. The 26th is a FREE day, some folks wll have to head back home for Easter, me included. Trophies for the top fish and most fish awarded for totals from Wednesday through Friday. The fish need to be witnessed by another angler and put up on the board at the Comfort Inn by Friday night. I'm working on getting the meal catered again with Crash and Company. Tony may have a few things to do out at Muskie Mountain Lodge as well. Stay with Tony, at the Comfort Inn, or wherever! The Headquarters will be the Comfort Inn.

Tony told me at the Columbus show that his lodge was booked by a club for the weekend (before these dates were set up by M1st)so I doubt he'll have any room, best to call him first.
I won't be attending unless something changes, hope y'all have a real hoot 'n holler of a good time! m

ps- don't forget yer Sledges!

Just got booked at the Comfort Inn. If all goes well we'll be leaving as soon as I finish up work early Wednesday morning, should arrive early enough Wednesday afternoon to hit the water for a few hours.
See everybody there.

So far I still have not made final plans on who is going with me to the Cave.

Some have work issues and others are still undecided. I have some work to do on the boat before going(new trolling motor mount, Keel guard, etc)

I might just have to hook up with someone already going.

Anyone interested in a boat partner with lots of Cave Run experiance. I live just west of Milwaukee and can go anytime. I would like to fish Wednesday afternoon through Sunday.

Feel free to e-mail me or PM me with any questions.

Is a boatboy the same as an "idiot caster", but having an elevated title?

Just spoke with Doug J on the phone and had already took some time off during that week, hopefully the lake will not be in full flood at that time since we are planning to get up there for at least a day. Doug tells me he is on a workout program specifically designed to help him make the "secret retrieve", 12 hours a day without stopping. One thing about Doug, he will show you the "secret bait", but he kind of hunches down in the back of the boat so you cannot steal the "secret retrieve". Another thing about Doug J, every dang time I have taken him up to Cave Run he has caught at least TWO muskies, wish I could catch two muskies every time I went to Cave Run with me...wonder how that works exactly?

I am still thinking about taking my rig down to the Cave but would like to add one more person. TroyZ might be able to hook up with me Wednesday sometime and we could leave shortly after he gets to my house.
Some of the other guys have $$$ or Vacation issues.

Anyone want to join me and TroyZ for the Cave Run experiance?

I would like to fish Thursday to Sunday. Maybe head back around noon on Sunday.
