Dan Sura, Travis Richardson, Jim Kalkofen, and more! This will be a great show, and MuskieFIRST will be reporting with photos and updates. Watch this thread for Day one reports.

If you're at the show, stop by Quam's booth and say hello.

Steve,

Can you verify if Sabaskong Bay Lodge is there? They are supposed to be, but I don't see them on the exhibitor's list.

Hope to stop by on Sunday for a bit.

Muskie Fever MN.

The paint jobs on the baits you are referring to are on Hawgseekers stuff. Great new (to most of you) tackle manufacturer from western WI. Check it out at www.hawgseekers.com

I met the Hawgseekers group at the LaCrosse show. My son got a 6 inch "slow tease" there. It seemed to just hanged in the water when you paused your retrieve at the poolside demo. I can't wait to get this one a try this spring. Nice choice of colors too.

I have to say, I was a little skeptical about how this show was going to be. After walking around a bit, I was amazed. Very very nicely done. One thing you have to understand from the get-go is that it's not just a Musky show. There's alot of Musky in it and alot of super nice Musky people though.

I got a chance to shoot the breeze with Lee Tauchen, Gary Myshack, Kenny Jackson, Russ Warye, 8inchCrank, Phil Swiek, Jay Janny (from the PWT) and the owners of Dunwright Tackle. I tried saying hello to Mr W, but #*^@, he's a popular guy, couldn't get near him yesterday afternoon!

I'd definately go again next year.

Man, it was fun! Although, I was busy making rig's for Alien's for most of the show, I got to chat with a few folks. It was fun, especially the kid's, I really had fun chatting with them while their mom or dad's were chatting w/ Mike & Scott about our lure's. I think they had fun watching me making rig's. Beware! ! There are few junior muskie hunters out there that will be throwing Alien's and I don't think they will share their new lures w/dad!

I thought I saw Mr. Hintz from a distance but he was tied up chatting with someone. Got to briefly say hi to Mr. & Mrs. Worrall. That 2060 is one sweet boat, I'm trying to figure out if I can find a Christmas stocking big enough for that one!

Have fun in 2005

Al

Theedz, what a good eye for the lady's you have! That lady is Miss(?) Madison Fishing Expo 2005! She was giving autographs and 8" x 10" Glossies of her self at the Tuffy Boat area. Leave it to Steve Worrall, to be trolling (obscure reference to common fishing technique) that end of the show for most all of the show!

For those of you who have never been at the Madison Fishing Expo, for a non-muskie specific fishing show it is still pretty good. It is well run and pretty well attended. They have a number of obscure fisheries which they also promote. What the heck is a chinook?

You almost got me with the "Atomization of the wire running through the body so it better reacts to the moon phases" line Steve....well, for 10 seconds anyway.

Mr. Guide, we would appreciate that you not discuss trade, patent pending, secrets over the internet! Crankbait technology upgrades are extremely competitive!
And it doesn't have anything to do with "atomization", it had everything to do with "magnetic flux"!.....but don't tell anyone!

Ahhhhhhhhh- GMG! Watch out for the "flux capacitor" and the "condoller wire", both critical components to fishing with magnetic flux! Extremely important that they be properly engineered for the species.

Have fun.

Fishwater1- No pic's yet of rigged Alien- super secret rigging- info only available to actual purchaser's/user's. (willingly shared w/ the folks at the show) Imagine a big muskie grabbing a solid rigged softbody lure like a big tiger tube or a bulldawg- How do you get a good hook set??? Try Mr. Worrall's chair hookset experiment.

The ZaltNAD "Alien" is rigged so all the power from the hookset is transfered to the hooks, not to the lure body. Besides it's a hydro-dynamic lure, i.e., it swim's and glides (to borrow a phrase from ToddM, "It dances like a stripper in need of cash").

The show was great- I heard the kids fishing seminar "Kid's Fishing by Kids" was outstanding! Thanks to all the fine folks who worked hard to put this show together. Can't wait until next year to chat w/ the kid's and pass on some more EM fishing secrets.

Have fun.
Al.

Does ToddM's mother know that he knows just exactly how a stripper in need of money would dance?

SVL, no she does not. I have given that woman all the grey hair she could handle as it is. My parents were at the show though, seen all of you and I don't think they talked to anybody. I hope the show has no conflicts next year, I really like it.

Fishwater1- I should have said no pic's of an "Alien" rigged, my digital camera got ripped off out of my truck @ gas station.. Here's some unrigged ones. These are Mold Craft squids, very tough. 6", 9", 12" & 16". 14 colors.

Have fun.

Yes indeed, big fish in the Wisconsin River are a lie, with fast current they work really hard trying to stay upstream and are very skinny and shallow waters can't make big muskies especially when there are no ciscoes. . . right?
