| Can any of you guys recommend a place to get a custom travel cover made in the Chicagoland / Milwaukee area? I am close to buying a 690vs but it does not have a cover. Thanks JohnW | |||

Posts: 20271 Location: oswego, il | I had a cover done up for me in naperville. I forget the name but i can tell you they are located on north aurora road, about 1/2 block before rt 34(ogden). They were the most resonable that i could find.

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Contact the folks below. I have ordered a cover from them, as well as other people that I know. They make great covers, that are extremely water proof and tie down very tight for travel. These people are the company that makes the covers for companies like Lund, Crestliner, Ranger, ect... You can just order it form them, and cut out the middle man. I believe got my cover for around $300, where at the dealership it was going to be $650 for the same cover. | fyi: Boatcovers.com didn't have a pattern for the boat ('97 690vs) so they're out. Seems they are only supporting newer models.

Posts: 743 | fyi...boatcover.com just make a total custom fitting cover my 1992 boat, w/ port side TM reinforcements...the even took into account the acutal size of my outboard, where the TM is and the asked for other details.

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I would still contact boatcovers.com Like Tom said, when I ordered my cover, they wanted to know my engine size, where my trolling moter was, if it layed to the right or left, if I had rod holders, ect... They still might be able to make you one that will be a perfect fit on your boat.

Posts: 5874 | Custom Faberkin in Fond du Lac did the cover for my boat. Did a great job. Fits like a glove, totally custom, and it was about $450.

| Anyone know if there is a repair kit available for a cover? Picked the rig up from the dealership and they had left it outside which is expected ony a huge puddle of ice had froze and as I slid it off it cut the cover like a razor. I now have a 2' long cut in the cover. If not a kit available, how about a place to repair it? Any of the above mentioned as I am from the Chicagoland area. Thanks. | |||
