Location: nationwide | This is for anybody who has seen the trolling video being shown in the Maina/Drifter booth. It is the video where the guy mounts an underwater camera to his downrigger and you can watch the fish swim up to the bait and hit it.
Me and my buddy were in absolute awe of this footage and watched it several times. We also talked about it on the way home, which was a three hour plus drive and we both feel this was the coolest thing we have seen in a long time because you can see the fish long before the strike and what they are doing behind the bait, and multiple strikes.
If you have seen this video footage in their booth what are your thoughts?

Location: Appleton, WI | I thought the video was really cool to watch also. I had saw some saltwater shows that had clips of billfish chasing the bait and it was pretty neat to see how the fish react to the bait and strike it. It appears that they have a video camera attached to the downrigger ball. Pretty good observation from Happy Hooker about the fish hitting the bait from it's right side. I also wanted to note that it appeared most fish strikes came from underneath the bait. I think that really shows us that we must try and keep those baits above the fish. Pretty amazing even with some of the shots slowed down how fast those fish can strike. Pretty cool for the short amount of video footage can speak volumes!!! Way cool stuff!!!

| Makes me wonder how many fish follow your baits that you don't see! And how long they will follow them, just watching, waiting for the trigger! |

Location: Minnesota | Those guys had that video at the Blaine show last year as well and it is pretty amazing footage. I talked with the guys that filmed it and they said they had one fish follow the bait for upwards of a mile. What amazes me the most about that video is that they are moving at 4-6 mph and all of the fish look like they were exerting zero energy to swim along with the bait movong that fast. It makes you wonder how fast a bait can be moving and still have a muskie hit it? 10mph? 15mph??????? |
