| I had the best musky fishing day of my life a few weeks back. Believe it or not I had not less than a dozen follows in one evening. I caught one 35", lost two others and had at least 10 other follows. Most were on a bucktail, but the caught fish was on an Eddie. I would like to think it is my fine angling ability - though I doubt that very much. I have these questions for you fellow muskyteers:
What is the most muskies anyone has ever seen on one lake in one day (caught, followed, missed, etc.)?
What were the conditions?
Time of year?
Same bait, different baits?
Type of water (stained, clear, etc.)?

| During the Metro musky tournament this year, my partner and I saw 22 muskies. Some real nice slobs included.
Only about 8 of those were follows with me catching one 39" on a figure 8.
Truly an amazing day on the water and one that I will never forget.

| 46 follows (and i kept a close count, no s***t here) and 2 boated, both low 30s. About 5 days after a big cold front, using Bull Dawgs, and big bucktails, month and a half ago, semi-clear water. NO I didnt get one of the fish....was my frickin birthday too, but follow #46 was a HIGH 40s fish that went around 2 8s before giving me the fin!!!

| It was sixteen hits follows and only two caught. It was the fouth of July four years ago. Hot muggy with a giant storm just to the south of the lake. In fact rain was falling just on the other side of forty one as we fished. The muskies would hit so violently that they would shake off, no matter how sharp the hooks or the hook set. Best day I ever saw. Once the rain started the fishing quit. God I want that day back! I still have a scar on my hand from being stupid and attempting to grab a greenie that was making foam. I cant even write just thinking about it. Everybody get some teeth in their life. DandyDon. |

| The most Muskies that I have ever seen caught in one day happened on Opening Day 1996 on the Niagara River in the Buffalo Harbor. The famous "Harbor Rampage of 96",over 50 Muskies caught by a small amount of boats in a short period of time, all over 45 inches,1/2 were over 50 inches.I had eight Muskies on my boat alone that were from 45 to 50 inches in legnth.

| Seen around 50 fish this spring on waubesa. A sunny calm bluebird coldfront day. It was easy to move the fish but none would commit except one 32" fish. Could not get one into a figure eight. Even had a double follow. |

| So I see I am not the only one the Muskies wanted to be persnikity with on Wabesa this year. Usually the fish are pretty coopertive on that lake. Even the Tigers are being snotty. We did take one in the heat the other day though. 42" We were ripping prop baits in the deeper water near the north end where everyone likes to perch or bluegill fish. We also raised two on spoons. We have been doing well on the spoons "up stream". Maybe I better get to the Wab and try spoon feeding there. Good luck. |

| It seems like the days that I'll get a ton of follows I have a tough time getting them to open there mouths. I've had a day in the late spring when we seen over 50 follows and never had one hit. We tried everything but most of the fish where chasing "twitch baits". Either small gliders or minnow baits. Almost all the fish were real slow and lazy. It was hot and flat calm out and it was the first real warm front of the season. A few days later a front came through with some wind and clouds and it was one of those days where you see one and catch 3 or 4.
On a small carry in lake in Canada I have seen dozens just about every time out there, but there all real small fish.
My best day personally was 5 in the morning and lost 2 (one real big one!) and went back out that evning with my son who was 5 at the time and he lost one right a way and then got 2 trolling. To this day he is the only person ever to step foot in my boat catch a muskie longer than them self. He was 40" tall the fish was 43 1/2"s. |

| DandyDon, has waubesa bloomed yet? |

|
| Most follows, 43 in one evening
Most legal fish in the boat in one day, 7
Believe it or not, just like Bill Schwartz said earlier, I had 43 follows, not one would open its mouth. It was 103 degrees the second week in June about 5 years back. The muskies went goofy.[:sun:] |
