Location: NeverNever Lake | I bought some 1 1/2 oz Esox Cobra jig heads at the Pitts show, but didn't have a bait they would fit in. I got to fiddlin around and upscaled the original Creature. Only now I've got to figure out how to rig up a trailer hook! I guess the beauty of the original size is they were more likely to have the whole lure in their mouth. But this, topping out at an even 10", am I more likely to get bitten off?

| These are great hooking baits, and maybe you won't need a trailer hook. I would experiment and see if it really helps with hook ups.
Bite offs will be easy to quantify!  |

You should be just fine with what you've got. I think on a jig most of the fish seem to hit towards the head anyway. You'll even get good eyes on that bait.
I've been learning from the master for the last year or so. Let's hear what he has to say.....Mr. Worrall???

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Raze.... If you are molding those large creatures and would be interested in selling a few, I would gladly purchase a few.
Don't see any reason to add a stinger. Definately not if you're going to be the weeds with it.
I used to buy the Curtis Creatures and cut the bottom/back hook off of them. The Cobra heads seem to be a nice head for the little I've used them. If you don't know the rubberband trick for keeping them weedless drop me and email and I'll do my best to describe it to you.
Creature fishing is fun if you have the patience for it.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | That is the original 'Super Creature' design I created with Jim Cairnes in the late 70's. We built 3 sizes, the largest of which was about 8".It's a great design for swimmer style jigs like the Cobra. Making it larger won't increase the tail bite offs, so no worries. Make a bunch of replacement tails and bring a lighter along, and you're set. I still have the molds for the jig heads that were designed for that tail, let me know if you'd like a couple. I like the 1 OZ dished swimmer on the Super Creature. |

| Used the same creatures with and without a trailer hook. The trailer isn't needed and it kills some of the action of the creature. Most times, even when sight fishing in the spring and the fish are sluggish, they mosey on up up to these things and inhale them....one quick flare of the gills and Gulp! |

| Watch those cobra heads as they can/will come loose from the hook. I agree no trailer needed, just kills the action! |
