Has anyone been to this show in past years? Can one find a decent amount of fishing rigs to make it worth my trip up from Rochester or is it mainly all powerboats, big cruisers, etc. Thanks.

Some great deals at the boat show for fishing rigs. You can see the same models of boats, and talk to different shops to make the best deal. I want to go down, and take a look at the new Tuffy's, as they will be carried by a new dealer (Riverview Marine in Elk River). I can't afford the new boat, but it is always fun to go look.

Yikes !!!

I read that article in MPLS paper on Sunday too.

The thought of all Lunds and Crestliners going out in 2006 with Mercs is VERY scary.

All I know is Alumacraft and other aluminum boat manufacturers must be licking their chops.

I went there last year and it's a great place to find great deals on Boats. Not only that but you can cover from Walker to Shakopee with one sweep of the floor no driving to find a better deal no hours on the phone trying to find what you like, etc. You'll find the most popular models on the floor so you can sit and feel what it would be like. I highly Recommend it!! It's worth the $10 or whatever they are charging these days.

as far as our booth is concerned (Crystal Pierz Marine), last year was my first Minneapolis boat show.
It's the Daytona 500 of boat shows, kind of kicks off the whole year in that area with the biggest show first.

from last years numbers (359 boats) yes a high percentage of those boats were Glastron and Bennington. The show does draw a lot of Metro family people looking for runabouts and toons. HOWEVER, there is a still a huge aluminum and glass fishing market being catered to with plenty of deals on fishing boats as well.

The Convention Center is huge, tons of dealers, all kinds of boats there. I dont think you will be dissapointed if you came to strictly look at fishing boats...there are TONS!

I went a few years ago.

There were a bunch of runabouts and cruisers, but there were also plenty of fishing boats. I think most dealers had at least a few fishing boats, since there's a ton of dealers you have a pretty good selection.

Andy,
The Boat Show is where I bought my boat a few years ago. The run abouts do out number the
fishing rigs, but they do have everything down to canoes and paddle boats.

It is a great place to compare all brands and do some shopping!

I'm on my way there tomorrow. It's a great show, with almost every brand you could possibly want to compare represented.

I drive all the way from Warroad. Usually go two days and mostly drool. Lots of boats, every thing from 50' Sun Seakers
to 12' canoes. There are lots of fishing boats, and although I've never bought there, I hear there are good deals available. You get to look at the latest and greatest. Lots of fun!

Nice break from -40 below!
