Location: Michigan | What baits from days gone by do you miss the most? This question applies to baits that are no longer in production or baits that are still in production, but the old ones are better than the new ones. How about strikers, the old suicks vs. the new, old grandmas vs. the new. Also interested in why you miss them/think they are better. |

Location: MIlton Ontario Canada | I really miss those really old believers that didn't have any rattles in them. Seems like every believer you see now a days has those huge rattles. I just like the non rattle option for fishing clear waters. Not that the rattles are bad just miss that no rattle option.

Location: Algonquin, ILL | Rattleless Depthraiders, I still have a few prototypes left that Joe gave me many moons ago but I am reluctant to use them as they are still in the original pkg and brand new, fortunatley the ones I use still catch fish even though they are all beat up

You might want to try to get your hands on a Joel Wick Flaptail. Almost the exact same
design but with spreaders. Numerous big fish caught on it the past few years. There
was a 39lb. Chip fish that fell to it this year. Joel himself caught a 34lber
on a Minnesota lake on it this August. Many other fish as well. It has a great heavy
blade which flops back and forth creating a very deep bloop while spitting water straight up in the air. With the exception of the spreaders it looks nearly identical to the Snodlo.

Location: Contrarian Island | There are close versions...but the old Le Lure Water Thumper (topraider style) topwater bait are cool...as are the Le Lure Creepers...I would love to get some of those rattleless D Raiders, Old Grandmas, and original Bull Dawgs...most can be found on Ebay from time to time if you are willing to pay for them!

Location: Black Creek, WI | The original Bagley B-Flat jerkbait. They were ultra slow sinking and had incredible side-roll and belly flash. Terrible durability... but the fish ate 'em up.
The original 10" Jakes that had the awesome side-roll rather than the newer one's that swim more like a snake in that "S" pattern. Less tail wag and more side roll please!!!

| I've got one of those stupid Depth Raiders that doesn't rattle. Bought the first few months after they came out. Still looks new. While I must have 6 DR's, I can't buy a fish on those dern things! Can't even remember ever getting a strike. They're beginning to seem like a fish repellent to me. Guess I'm going to have to keep snapping them on to try to figure out why you guys like them so much!?

I'll tell you this though, at times I would like to step back in time and experience the "good old days".

Location: north central wisconsin | Ditto to Handyman, period. those original hawgs made from the rare south american wood, were special. Ditto to jlong on the jakes too. i wonder if the old square lip had something to do with it. I also notice that the rattles were deeper too.
I liked when Hi finn lures were made out of wood, and would like to find a couple teasertails, creepers, and hawg busters from that era.
Steve, ryan Jinkerson(rylur) has made some nice snodlo type lures too. I have one I would trade. |

| The "Teddie Bait ". A fantastic side to side glide bait . The paint job did not last very long. Oh I do mean the wooden" Teddie Baits" Lindy came out with this neopreme version which really sucked. |

| First musky I ever caught was on a Heddon "pencil popper" surface lure. It was great to be pulling that, and splashing all that water and get a surface strike. Great lure. |
