Location: Michigan | Does anyone know the evolution of design/construction of Grandma baits?
I tried to piece together what I could from some of the Grandmas I have.
For example:
Years produced, body material, eyes, lip style, any identifying markings
19XX - 19XX, plastic body, painted eyes (flat on body), straight molded lip, "Grandma" on lip
19XX - 19XX, plastic body, stick on eyes(yellow & black - large and stick out), straight molded lip - reinforced, "GRANDMA M-9" on lip
19XX - 19XX, plastic body, molded in eyes(then painted - a little smaller than above), straight molded lip - reinforced, "Grandma M-9" on lip
19XX - 2004, plastic body, stick on prism eyes, bent molded lip - reinforced, "Grandma" on lip
Did I miss any of the different interations the bait went through? If anyone can add anything to this I would appreciate it! |
| In the Middle 90's the Grandma Lure company gave Magna strike the right to make there lures, I have a few of these baits with the Bubble eyes, and they also have rattles in them, they work very well, thought I have broken the lip on one of them 2 times I have replaced it with a longer newer lip, know this bait hits bottom at 8.5 ft Deep casting, awsome bait. |
