Location: Athens, Ohio | Mikie needs a new rainsuit for Christmas, looks like BPS has a pretty good price on Froggs. Who has had a set for a while and what do you think of them? Do they hold up as good as the vinyl? I'm not real interested in the top of the line Guideware with the thermal lining, I can always go thermal under the rainsuit, just wanna stay dry. | Mikie, I have the Frogg Toggs and like them very much. There are a couple things to keep in mind. Frog Toggs are very light and will keep you cooler than most rainsuits in summer. They have no pockets and that is kind of a drag. The one thing that I really don't like is if a hook even looks at the Frogg Toggs it gets embedded in the suit. That is the stickiest material I have ever worn. They do a great job of keeping me dry and that is what it is all about so although they aren't perfect I would recommend them. |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Frogg Toggs are good rain suits if you treat them well. Don't ball them up, even though they say it is ok. The material will break down after balling them up over and over again.
I really like them and will continue to use them.

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Frogg Toggs rock! They're more of a summer/warmer rain gear IMOP. I've got Basspro's 100mph gear for the other times. Now that's the stuff for your boat! |

| I've had mine for 3 years and really like them. For a breathable suit they can't be beat for the price.

Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | The Gander H20Tech suit is on clearance now by us. Less than $150.00 for the whole thing. Works like GoreTex, but not as expensive.
The Frogg Toggs just don't look as durable, but I have heard good things about them. |

| Frogg Toggs are OK for a basic set of raingear. They don't break the wind like Goretex.
For a warm weather set or over layers, they are OK. I keep a set in the boat just for a back up.
Goretex still gets my vote for all of the charachteristics that I like. Dry, warm, wind blocking.

| Mikie I really do not think you will be happy with the long term wear of frog toggs.
As for warm weather wear, I find them warmer than goretex, yes they are light but they insulate and do not transfer any heat off your body-goretex will.
I would not recommend frogg toggs except as backup. I am having to replace a set after about 1 year of wear. Still wearing my gore tex after 20 years. Doesn't fit quite as well and one pocket has lost a seam but still very serviceable. |

| Wore frogg toggs for 2 day tournament in Madison last year - rained both days - got soaked.
Use these as back up only . Go Gortex - ya get what ya pay for. .. |
