Posts: 148 Location: Milwaukee, WI | The public boat launch on Okauchee Lake has limited parking. Perhaps 25 rigs. Its full to capacity much of the time. Sometimes, I believe I have seen folks parking on the main street in Okauchee, several blocks away. For folks that enter this Tournament and pay before Saturday, do the organizers have any plan in place to assure Tournament anglers easy access to lake on Saturday morning ? Otherwise, I think Tournament anglers would be wise to arrive early, like 5AM, to get the nearby parking spaces. Chuck C.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Good point on the launch situation. I know for the WMT, they allowed us to park in a parking lot nearby so we don't clog the launch for others that aren't fishing the Klassic.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I think it opens at 5, as posted, but you can pretty much launch at any time. They have never enforced a certain time that I am aware of. I am just going to pitch a tent in my boat, and sleep on the water.

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | That was my first thought too, or closing Jollymons and sleeping in my truck friday night. Another thought. Park your rig in the lot, leave it overnight and have your partner follow. That way you have a spot first thing in the morning. Think Jollymons would have a problem with us docking over night on their pier?

Location: Minneapolis, MN | For those of us who are not regulars at Okauchee can someone fill us in on the how too's and what not to do's regarding launching and parking? Considering the small size of Jollyman's lot I assume all the overflow from the small public lot can't drop the boat in the water at the public ramp then park the empty trailer at Jollyman's? That means we will have to park at the Golden Mast and pay their hefty ransom for parking? After fishing where are we going to park all these trailered boats?

Posts: 148 Location: Milwaukee, WI | Luke, Throughout the open water season, its a busy place. I'd say the number one WRONG thing to do there is launch your boat, leave it tied to the dock at the ramp, and then disappear for any time longer than 5 minutes. Folks behind you will get annoyed, to say the least............ So, for a boat w/2 anglers & no parking available at the launch area; launch the boat, one man immediately drives the boat away from the launch dock and "orbits" the area on the water. The other guy must find parking somewhere & then get back to the ramp. Its a residential area, so I estimate it to be at least a five minute walk back to the ramp to be picked up. Its a MUCH longer walk than 5 minutes, from Jollymon's Cove back to the public launch! My fishing partner, who has never owned a boat, has no experience starting or driving my boat and no experience backing up my vehicle & trailer. This leaves me in an awkward situation! Saturday nite, after the sun sets, the boat launch will be much more laid back. Not sure, but there MIGHT be enough dock space around Jollymon's for 25 boats. After the Tournament: Enjoy the libations at Jollymon's until after sunset, then go take your boat out.

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Snaggletooth: I was thinking of letting the partner drive the boat to meet me at the Jollyman's dock while I go park the truck at Jollymans. However, I don't know if Jollyman's is kewl with us parking rigs there? With your scenario of letting the partner hover the rig out in front of the dock, where would the driver find parking for the rig? On the street? Is that legal?

Posts: 148 Location: Milwaukee, WI | Luke, Can't say how Jollymon's mgt. would react to 10-15 rigs parked around their place on a Sat. nite. I think this qty. would fill up the available parking around there. My plan is the truck/trailer driver finding parking along Wisconsin Ave. & then walking the 3-5 blocks back down "Road T" to the boat launch. I "think" this is legal because I have seen truck/trailer rigs parked along there before. But, I've never been so desperate to fish Okauchee to resort to this plan. When the Okauchee launch parking lot was full, I've always just gone to down the street & launched on Oconomowoc Lk.

Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | What I've done in the summer is to launch at the public and park the truck & trailer at the Golden Mast. I try to park way in the back of there lot as not to upset there customers at the restaurant. The owner Hans is a good guy, He never has ticketed us. I'll call out there and see what the deal is. Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | We should really try to get something concrete in the works.....then we can start a thread on this topic alone. Has anybody called JollyMon's or the Golden Mast? If not, I can do it today....just holler. I really dont want to see a Cluster F&*K Saturday morning or Saturday evening and have people disapointed, angry or confused. This is supposed to be a fun thing.

Posts: 7115 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I WILL see if myself, Jonesi or Cady can call over there. Worked til 7 last night, then played ball (18 kills, 3 hitting errors, 5 aces, 3 digs and an assist - and that was playing middle, which I suck at), then got home and worked til midnight (boo-hoo for me). We will figure this out.
