I was just wondering if anyone has canoed the Pelican river above the pint where it flows into the WI river near Rhinelander during higher water levels. I know there are fish in it, and don't really need a fishing report, just need a report on conditions and feasability of a small craft floating down it. Not sure of the landing sites either. Thanks!

No fish there Jason!!!! Best to fish the Wisconsin south of 10!!! To answer your question, yes, yes, you must figure out the where though:) Start in the big river and go left, no more tips, unless you are a canoeing thrasher from the bypass:) Low Water!

My son canoes that water very regularly, and does pretty well with muskies. Smallmouth Bass are really common, CPR the Bass please!

Thaks Steve. Always CPR the bass. Wish everyone would here on the WI river too. We had something special with the smallies in the late 80's early 90's. then guys started taking out the big girls in may on the beds for pond stocking. It did not take long to see negative results. We'll let you know how we do.

J
