Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | This has been a very strange fall for me so far. I could have saved about $100 already buying suckers that just have not been producing. I have been doing alright on artificials, but nothing is taking the meat yet. Have watched a few fish trail the suckers for a while but have only had one eat meat so far. Are suckers producing for the rest of you?

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Nope....had one sucker tail dance trying to get out of the way of a gator, that was it. Let me see, between my brother and I, we've been through 16 suckers with not one fish to show for them. Gliders and Walk the Dog Top Waters have been the ticket to seeing fish this fall for me.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Norm, the sucker bite has been great down here. I think the last 5 fish in my boat have been on meat, and we have lost some good fish as well on the meat in the past 2 weeks. The sucker bite is going strong, and the h2o temps are in the 52-55 degree range.

Posts: 1906 Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Depends on what you consider as "working". If it wouldn't have been for suckers the last few weekends the fishing could have been considered as poor. However, every weekend we are getting fish to hit the suckers, but we just can't get them pinned. Missed two last weekend and two this weekend on suckers, and one of the fish were BIG! Getting very frustrated with these darn things! Norm, what has been working in my boat is running the suckers very near the bottom. Most of my sucker action has been on clear water, and I have been fishing them 25-30' down. It appears this was the magical depth. On shallower lakes 2-3' of the bottom worked.

Posts: 1294 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | 2 weeks ago did good-this past weekend I drowned $25 worth without so much as pickup. The only action came from a crappie patern Undertaker.

Posts: 723 | I was in boulder jct area and had a lot of fish following a suick that was worked in a quick manner but wouldn't hit, I had a sausage hangin about 3-4 feet down that a 42 took instead of my suick. Pretty cool, got to watch him stare it down and nail it. haven't used'em otherwise.

Posts: 622 Location: Seymour, WI | Fished on 10-14-2004 on a shallow clear lake, fish were taking live bait as soon as it would hit the water, but we only had one follow on a twitched crank bait, boated a 41 and 39 on quicksets.

| Had 4 hits last week. One felt very heavy. Did get a 42 " Tiger for my first Tiger I have ever seen after 25 yrs or so of musky fishing. Lost about a 50 " northern at the boat. The biggest I have ever seen even with fishing Canada. Slayed the eyes tho. | |||

| Well until now it has been slow but in the past two days 6 of 7 fish came on suckers w/ another 9 lost on them--only one other fish on a jerkbait--a very girthy and spunky 48 x 23 who taught me the meaning of the term "bone jarring strike"! jk | |||
