Location: Monee, Illinois | Has anyone fished this lake. I was told there are Tiger Muskie in the lake. Any size and any numbers, or any information at all.

Location: Monee, Illinois | So does anyone no anything about this lake? I have a buddy says he has caught some nice muskie out of this lake. On Lake-Link it shows Tiger Muskie to have been stocked in the lake. Let me know I wouldnt mind giving it a try. I am thinking about going in two weeks, so any help would be great.

Location: oswego, il | I have not fished it but drove by it countless times coming to and from college. It's a very small lake. Illinois has last stocked tigers in it in 97. That means the youngest tiger musky in the lake is 7 years old. Probably not too many left in there. |

| I live about fifteen minutes from LOTW, IL. I have never taken the boat out onto it, but know folks catch them. Bass fishermen using bass sized spinnerbaits catch them. In fact, I believe a fella caught about a 43" this year, and has caught a 45" in years past (all tigers). On the Muskies Inc. website some folks have caught them using topwater. Try the ramp and the rip rap across from it. You could probably walk the whole lake in a few hours, maybe a little more. Hope this steers you in the right direction. If you fish it try and post a report here. |

Location: Monee, Illinois | Well I went out there today. You where right I walked around most of the lake. A nice lake! I had two follows right to shore. They have a boat launch, electric motor only. I wish I would have brought mine. The first follow was right at the boat launch 35 inch I would say. It was on a Glide Bait. The second follow was just passed the golf course driving range. This was a nice muskie 40+, it saw me and took off. The follow was on a SS Shad Crappie Color. Talked to some bass and crappie fisherman and they say the catch a lot of muskie fishing there. Most break off but they do well. They also said no one really fishes for them. Lot of weeds in the lake. Next time I will bring my boat and try to Figure 8 those fish. I WILL BE BACK THERE thats for sure. If anyone else fished or fishes the lake let me know. IF IT IS YOUR SECRET LAKE let me know by e-mail since I will be back.

| Yeah there are a lot of muskie in that lake. I fine secret and yes you can walk the whole shore if you don't have a boat. I will tell you what, I have a 2 set battam boat and caught a 47 incher this year out on LOTW and what a treat the fish was pulling me around like a sucker bobber. Not going to tell you what I caught it on since its a secret out there but works a lot. Great muskie lake and little muskie pressure. Also so really large bass!

| Can I use my boat with a big motor on the back(out of the water) and just use my trolling motor? Or is it just electric motor only lake? Thanks for the reports. Roy |

| If you're referring to backing the boat off the trailer or putting it on, I think that's OK. I'd do it anyway. There's no way I could get my boat on the trailer with just my trolling motor. But when you're fishing, trolling motor only or else you'll have a lot of pissed off people. |

I'd watch out if I were you! That lake specifically states it is electric only and when the Champaign County Forest Preserve had their own officers you would certainly get a ticket.
I also know that if the Mahomet police or a county mountie catches (both ESPECIALLY aggressive!) you will get written up as well. "Heresay" will get you no where!
*I* can't afford such luxuries so it's waders and the winch for me!
Suggestion, have you tried BOTH ramps? I know one is steeper than the other...

Location: champaign, illinois | No problem! I just happen to know a few of the local police and know how aggresive they are around that town. They're just trying to keep the scofflows out of Dodge is all.
I was ONCE allowed to power on my trailer at Kickapoo State Park (electric only) when the river flooded and backflowed into on of the strip pit I was fishing putting the steep part of the ramp under water. The ranger saw me attempting to load with the troller and gave me permission because it was obvious the WHOLE ramp would be under water in a matter of minutes.
You could cry "emergency" I guess but unless it was obvious you wouldn't stand a chance

| Resurrecting an old post.
Has anyone been out there since earlier this season? Jim, you seem to have a pretty good handle on the lake, how've you been doing? Really curious about this "sewer" and am looking for more info, considering I live fifteen to twenty minutes away it sure beats the hell out of driving 1 1/2 hours to Shelbyville. Plus, I've always wanted to catch a tiger  |
