I know that I am going to start a great debate here, but what the heck. I fish quite a few Bass tournaments, yes I said Bass tournaments, every summer, and was wondering how many of you Musky nuts also fish other spieces seriously not just for a little fun? Try not to be to tough on me, after all it is the Christmas season.[] []

It's nice to do something a little different than chasing the green slimey ones. I love fishing for stelhead and salmon can be fun too. It can be very peaceful sometimes out wading the tributaries of Lake Michigan. I also love and I mean love fishing for the lord of the flats, the mighty Tarpon. My biggest tarpon fought me for one hour and fifty-five minutes.(approx. 130lbs. on 20lb. test and a 7 foot spinning rod.) Nothing compares. (Nothing) IN fact, they make muskies look like sissies.[:0]

Early season I love fishing with a "meat hook." This is what my father and I call a white 2" twister tail. We fish it in the spring and catch everything. We use ul and l gear so that 3# bass feels like a 30# muskie. We catch everything on that combo. I highly recommend it for those of you who have family that need to be catching fish all the time, doesn't like the bobber, but isn't real technical. They'll catch panfish, bass, an occasional northern, and in the right places walleyes.

I take my Tuffy out on the big pond 6 to 8 miles out in the summer...Fishing on Sunday mornings for a change for Salmon is getting to be the norm around here with me and my muskie buddys.

Its fun to eat what you catch for a change.[;)]

...fish through the ice for walleye and crappie (nothing better on the pan) I also like to head south to Florida to catch toothy critters, sharks and cudas. They are a great fight on light tackle. Really want to do the Tarpon thing maybe soon.....

If Smallmouth got up to 35 pounds, no one would really care about a 30 pound muskie much....and nothing is quite like pouncing all over a school of 4 pound bigmouth on the secondary break in 18 feet on a jig and creature...

I have a couple bass lakes that I hit during the week. Not so much this year as one froze out and the other one was discovered and fished out before it was posted catch and release.

My dad showed me this once and I could not believe it. He put on a small firetiger hawgwobbler and casted it by these carp. Ka-blamm! one nailed it. Unhooked it and casted back. Ka-blamm! They inhaled this lure.

Like Jason Smith said, the Salmon fishing is GREAT! I had a blast last summer with him.
I do a lot of Walleye and Bluegill fishing with my son. Other than that I stick to MUSKIES!!!!!!!
