Its a place where captains can take service people out for a day of
fishing or possibly a fishing contest.The site seems to be mainly for people on the coasts but who knows. They just may have people in
the midwest who could use a day away from it all.
If you go to that site you can send your name and possibly volunteer
a day .
They could use the thanks!

I think this is for active service people. You can go to the web site and use the volunteer form or notify them through the contact form .

I received an e-mail today stating that right now they are only "Take a soldier fishing" in Florida. They also said they would contact me if they get a request for the upper midwest.

Every little gesture goes along way in supporting our men and women of our armed forces and I am humbled by the support and kind gestures I continue to see on this board. YOU thanking US? Now that's a bit of a twist isn't it? I for one am extremely greatful to all of you who have put their lives on hold and are risking them daily to help keep us safe! All politics aside, the job our armed forces is doing is exemplary. It matters not whether one agrees w/ the policies about the war, the troops on the ground have earned and deserve our support. They've got mine. There's a boat in utah waiting for any one of you upon your return.

Thanks guys, my family and I all appreciate everything you do for us. Including the time you put in, the danger you put yourself in, the way you represent those less fortunate than yourselves, and above all the things you do that let all of us here sleep at night without worrying about what tomorrow will bring.

Ditto what sorenson said. I've always supported our troops, always will. Spending 5+ years active Air Force, with 2 1/2 of that in Germany during the height of the Cold War, got me first hand knowledge of the huge undertaking and sacrafice required to protect our freedom. You guys are doing a great job, in a tough place. I just wish the media in this country would report the good things you are doing over there.
