Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | We had another great time fishing the Hodag Muskie Tournament in Oneida County, WI. The tourney is set up for 200 contestants on 13 lakes, with the winning team receiving $20,000.00. Well, my partner, Darrel Mack, caught a 38" muskie late Sunday morning, which put us a 45"er away from first place! We didn't lose, we ran out of time. Darrel's fish put him only two fish shy of 300 MI releases lifetime! Congratulations Darrel! I am proud to be his netman on many of those fish. As always the tourney was a great time with alot of great fishermen involved. There are only 361 days until the 2005 version of 'Da Hodag!! Edited by Steve Van Lieshout 9/21/2004 1:38 PM

Posts: 622 Location: Seymour, WI | I fished NW WI Thursday thru Sun. For me the fishing got worse as the weather got warm. I had good action on Thurs and Friday and lost two nice fish on Fri afternoon. Warm weather on Sat and Sun I could not get anything moving. Anyone else have a similar report? Grass,

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I got out with Mikie in my boat on Friday. Great guy!!! We had a great few hours on the water, but no fish in the boat. Mikie had a fish blow up on his bait 3 times in 2 casts, but never got a hook. We had to cut the trip short, as the 2 backwoods boys were tired and needed rest for the remainder of the trip. It was good to meet Eric (esoxlazer) and Mauser as well. They had some action as well, but no fish in the boat. I got up north on Sat, and missed 2 fish on the Flambeau Chain, and caught a bass and a pike on Twin tails??!! I'm getting pretty good at premature releases lately.

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Tuffy and I humped the Milwaukee river for Salmon and Trout on Saturday morning...all we got was three walleyes and a ton of smallies. Sunday I hit Pewaukee lake with Elby, had one fish blow up on a Viper.

Posts: 20281 Location: oswego, il | Take a big deep breath. Smell that smell? It's me stinking up the musky fishing world! I have caight 2 musky since the beginning of august! Sat I got a bass and a super dink musky hit my spinnerbait and my dad got a dink trolling. We seen feeding fish too just could not get them too hit. I hope the water temps start cooling down, something has to get these fish active.

Posts: 802 | had a great weekend- shared the boat with 'musky-breath' corey meyer on thurs and friday. besides me screwing up 3 other topwater hits, i manged to hook and land a nice 40.5"er on a small pacemaker. spent saturday with wacko paul klein, and besides laughing my A55 off all day, i managed to pop a thick'n'beefy 44"er on a 10" jake at nite. almost looks like summer patterns are back in mid september. steve

Posts: 476 Location: WI | Was up in Eagle River. Fished surrounding lakes, as Paul's Pro Am was going on in the Chain. I heard 150 teams on the chain and only 20 fish caught, including 4 on Sunday. Two fish around 36 and 34 won it is what I heard. We boated 2 skis, 36" and 35.5". Also 17" and 18" Bass for bonus. Water temps around 60-63 degrees, clear sky didn't help the fishing. GotOne

Posts: 699 Location: Hugo, MN | It's not really a boat it's a bath tub. I don't use a net I hand landed it in the pitch black darkness because I thought it was a 2lb northern. Edited by marine_1 9/23/2004 12:19 PM

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Nice fish guys!!! Looks like the reed bite was on for a few of you???? Got a couple mid thirties on monday, missing a mid forties on topwater at dark. Fished MN waters wed and Thurs and say 17 fish boating 0, though not for the lack of biters. Burned one fish on a rylur topwater on a figure 8 and missed one on a reef hawg. Cool to have a double follow for the first time this season on a Reef Hawg. Unfortunately the bigger fish chased the smaller one away, as they neared the boat. headed to G.B. mon and tues, and hopefully the fishing is doing better than the Packers.
