| The PMTT is a fun trail and a great way to meet new friends. Fishing tourneys and fishing on a weekend up north is two different things. The luck factor comes out more in the tournies then on weekend trips and you have to be ready for that. I for one have been lucky and unlucky..
You must have a fishing partner that works with you as a team member, that is the single best reason folks drop out. They can handle there fishing partner under the preasure of money.
I for one have dropped out because of family, and right now I have one in the auburn incubator. The cost of the tourneys are high, but the friendships will last a lifetime.
Fish them with a positive additude and try to have fun and you will do well.[;)] |

| Larry,
Jason brings up some good points.
I would say definitely fish at least one to say that you have done it and see what you think. Do that before you commit to the entire trail. It is a great time. You will make new friendships that will last a lifetime.
Tourney fishing isn't for everyone. You may fish one and decide it isn't what you are into.
The partner factor is huge. I couldn't have asked for a better partner this past year than Keith Eldrup (Llungen Lures - www.llungen.com). Our fishing styles are different and compliment each other very well. If you have a partner that does pretty much everything that you do, then you probably will get stuck in a rut very easily. Keith and I forced each other to think outside the box and try things that one of us might not have been very comfortable with but the other person had total confidence in. It makes you learn and establish a pattern much faster. |

| Larry,
Last season I fished the entire PMTT trail and had a great time. Not to sure if I'll fish the whole trail this year but would like to fish at least 2 of the events. Keep in mind, you have to fish a minimum of 2 events and then catch a fish in order to qualify to the championship in October on Lake Shelbyville. Last year it took a nice fish and fishing 2 tournaments or a smaller fish (like the one we got ) and then fish the full trail to have enough point to get to the championship on Pewaukee.
I think it's a great way to meet new friends and to learn new fishing patterns. The cost is not cheap, but from what you'll get out of it it is worth it in the end. |

| I would certainly reccomend fishing it. I have not missed one in the 3 years so far Its fun. meet great peope and fish some new water each year. Best tip I gave you is to know your partner befor you agree to fish with them. Make as much fun as possable and do your homework. Muskie fishing always involves some luck but it is something how about a dozen of the teams have made the invitational all 3 years. Yes guys I have had some luck I admit it. You have to but some of the teams are awfully good. Homework, confidence and and a good partner are the keys I feel.
Merry xmas

| Partner is very important! So is having a plan and willingness to stick with it or change it if needed. I had a great partner in 2001 but we didn't boat a legal during all 4 qualifiers. That was very hard on us. Luck is involved but so is skill and knowledge of the water. |
