| I make a lot of my own bucktails and other tackle. I also use some off the shelf bucktails. Some Mepps, some from Crazy Dees and a few others. What brand and style do you other Muskie nuts like the best?

| Hi,
I really like Buchertail 700's, must have 12, though just a couple fish will beat one up pretty bad. I haven't tried many other brands.

| Too many to count but here's a few.... Funky Chicken, Mepps, Bearclaws, Skimmers and one that looks real kool is the Figure 8 inlines. Living rubber skirts that move a lot in the water.

| I also give my vote to the BUCHERTAIL 700 and the INHALER has proved worthy places in the BOX! Jeff |

| Mepps.. Funky chickens. Ghost tails...Buchers..and Chick E Ds'... all can be found at Smokey's and are great store bought bucktails. |

| If you want a quality tail that actually has some hair on it, try a Voo Doo Tail. They are sweet and have a very nice flutter in the water.

| I can't believe no one mentioned Harassers...I've found them to be one of the most dependable and conistent tails out there. I also like to run my baits a few feet deeper, and they get that depth for me.

*love the new lay-out! |

| I really like the Mepps. Did real good with the new Magnium Musky Killer this past year. they have a ton of hair and blade colors to pick from and with a split ring pliers you can change the blade and tail colorswhile your out in the boat.
The next pick would be a Boo Tail. Really like the action of marabou in the water. They ride nice and high in the water, great for over the weed tops. |

| Mepps and buchertail 700's have always been my favorites for store bought. But, when you think about the cost to make your own bucktails it really makes the store bought ones seem expensive. |

| I agree with JM 03, look at the Voodoo Tails. They are high quality and really catch fish.

| I have about 50 bucktails and 45 or so are Bucher's with a couple of Mepps and Eagletails but they rarely see water.Bucher's are all great quality and in his custom shop you can have just about any combination of blade and hair you want.I know Tom Dietz thinks I'm a pest.My favorite is a perch and brass that's at least 10years old with hardly any hair on it.It took years to get it wore just like I like it.[:p] |

|
| I am no expert here but I really like the Hunter Tails. Excellent quality and reasonably priced. The color and size choices are great too. They also seem to have a nicer look in the water. Tom |

| Buchertails are really good and I love the Mepps Musky Hunters <------ that has to be my favorite bucktail made by mepps.[:)] |
|
| |
|
| I have to give a shout out to the Buchertail Mogambo! I seems to produce when all other bucktails don't work!

| Buchertails are the best, they offer so many different ones and have a large selection of colors and will actualy custom make your own colors if there not on the list.[:sun:] |

| Musky Buster gets my vote. Good bait, good folks, and I caught by biggest on a purple one...[8)] |

| My favorite has got to be the Blue Foxes, I've seen fish come running from 50'away to eat them. |

| Wow...... no one mentioned the great bucktail that has caught tons of 50 inchers....
This bucktail...... is the EAGLE TAIL |

| South Bend Combo Pak....cheap + when used in a tandem bait rig hard to beat![:0] [:sun:] |

| Is anyone gonna mention the Fudally Musky Candy? My first 50+ incher came on a musky candy...saved the lure to hang it in the mouth of the replica I got and bought another one in the same color combination. The next year it caught me a solid 48.5". I love these bucktails. They're easy to throw and either burn back or let them sink a little bit lower in the water column and slowly crank them back. There's not alot of hair on these things, but they sure catch fish!

| GHOSTTAILS!
Nothing better than a perch ghosttail...... |

| I agree, there are lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of really good bucktails on the market today.
For no other reason than that's what is in my box, I use lots of Buchertail 700's, Blue Fox Vibrax (the #6 French blade is incredible), Harrassers, Wag Tails, and Eagle Tails.
There are lots of bucktails I'd like to try too but haven't gotten around to it. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with just about any tail on the shelf. Just find one that fits your style buy it.
